Why infoRouter V9 Is a Major Leap Forward for Document Management
What's New in infoRouter V9? Advanced Document Management and Compliance Features
In our previous infoRouter V9 update, we introduced some of the major developments coming in the next generation of the platform. This time, we're taking a closer look at several of the new capabilities and, more importantly, the practical benefits they bring to everyday users.

Working with Documents, Made Easier
At its heart, infoRouter is a document and information management platform, so making it easier to work with documents has been a key focus of V9.
One of the most significant enhancements is the introduction of a built-in document viewer. Users will be able to view a wide range of common file formats - including PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, text files, HTML, Markdown and more, all directly within infoRouter, without needing the associated application installed on their device.

This delivers a faster, more streamlined user experience while making the platform more accessible across desktops, laptops, tablets and other devices. Users can access and review documents whenever and wherever they need to, without worrying about software compatibility.
Creating Content Directly in infoRouter
Document creation is also receiving a major upgrade.
Many business processes require users to create documents quickly before initiating a workflow. For example, a Quality Manager may need to raise a Non-Conformity Report (NCR), create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), or draft an internal notice before routing it for review and approval.
With V9, users can create and edit documents directly within infoRouter using a significantly enhanced HTML editor and a fully featured Markdown editor. Rather than creating content in external applications and uploading it afterwards, documents can be authored and managed entirely within the platform.

Over time, this transforms infoRouter from simply being a repository for documents into a complete environment where information is both created and managed.
Simplifying Records Retention and Compliance
Another important enhancement focuses on governance and compliance.

When administrators define a Document Type, they can now optionally assign a Retention Schedule that automatically applies to every document created under that classification. Once configured, the retention policy is enforced automatically, removing the need for users to manually assign retention rules on a document-by-document basis.
This not only streamlines document classification but also helps eliminate a common source of compliance risk. For organisations operating in regulated industries, retention management becomes a policy-driven process that can be configured once and applied consistently across the organisation.
Looking Ahead
infoRouter V9 represents a major step forward in document and information management. Built on a modern foundation, it delivers a more intuitive user experience, enhanced productivity tools, and a platform designed to support future innovation.
We'll be sharing more details on additional V9 features and capabilities in future updates. In the meantime, if you'd like to learn more or arrange a demonstration, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
