After all, old habits die hard, and it was difficult to resist the temptation of falling back on old behaviors when things got difficult or I had setbacks.
This is exactly why it's so important to look at the big picture when establishing new habits.
By taking a step back and looking at how all my various activities intersect with each other, I gained a better understanding of how my current habits were impacting different areas of my life.
And then I could identify any potential roadblocks that might stand in the way of success and come up with strategies for dealing with them head-on. And ultimately, this kind of long-term perspective is what has kept me moving forward on the path toward a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle overall. AND be able to replicate that for my clients.
