Picking the right paint color is one of the most powerful ways to elevate your home. The wrong undertone can make a space look dated; the right one makes everything feel cohesive and high-end.
Here’s how designers do it.
White isn’t just white — there are warm whites, cool whites, greiges, taupes, and beige-greens. Look at the undertone against your flooring, counters, and lighting.
Never choose from a tiny swatch. Paint at least a 2x2 ft sample on all four walls and watch it throughout the day.
Daylight = cooler.
Warm bulbs = yellow.
Cool bulbs = blue.
Your paint color should complement the lighting temperature.
Use 2–4 colors max throughout the home to create flow.
Darker colors can actually make a space feel more sophisticated. Try them in offices, dining rooms, or accent walls.
