The Montgomery Zoo is excited to announce the arrival and public debut of four young ostrich chicks: Navy, Chickpea, Lima, and Green Bean. The “beans,” as they are lovingly referred to, hatched between June 2–5, 2025 in Georgia and were brought to the zoo by staff on September 10th.

A critically endangered Mountain Bongo was born July 14 at African Safari Wildlife Park in Ohio—the Park’s second Bongo birth this year and seventh since 2022.
Zoofari Parks announces the birth of Kipenzi, a southern white rhinoceros calf born July 24 at the Gulf Breeze Zoo. Kipenzi is the first second-generation calf born across Zoofari Parks’ facilities — a major milestone in their ongoing rhino conservation and breeding program. Visitors will be able to see Kipenzi starting Sept. 22 on World Rhino Day.
