FAQ

Please reach us at [email protected] if you cannot find an answer to your question.

How do I prepare for treatment?

We recommend arriving relaxed, hydrated, and with enough time to fully unwind before your treatment.

Your therapist will guide you through everything on arrival to ensure you feel comfortable and cared for throughout your visit.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothing is recommended before and after your treatment.

Some massage oils may remain lightly on the skin after treatment, so darker or easily washable fabrics are ideal.

When should I eat before my massage?

We recommend avoiding a heavy meal immediately before your treatment.

A light meal or snack beforehand is ideal to help you feel comfortable and relaxed during your massage.

How much clothing do I leave on during treatment?

Your comfort is always the priority.

Your therapist will explain everything before treatment begins and leave the room while you change privately. Appropriate draping techniques are always used throughout the treatment to ensure you feel relaxed, secure, and comfortable.

What if I feel too hot or too cold?

Please let your therapist know at any time during your treatment.

Room temperature, bedding, and comfort can all be adjusted to help you fully relax.

What if the pressure feels too light or too deep?

Your treatment is tailored to you, so please communicate openly with your therapist throughout your massage.

Pressure can be adjusted at any time to ensure your treatment feels comfortable and effective.

I’m not sure which treatment to book

That’s completely fine.

Our therapists are happy to guide you based on your goals, preferences, and areas of tension. We can recommend the most suitable treatment during your consultation or on arrival.

What are the benefits of massage?

Massage may help to:

• Relieve muscular tension
• Encourage relaxation and stress relief
• Support circulation and wellbeing
• Calm the nervous system
• Improve feelings of balance and relaxation
• Create space to mentally and physically unwind

Why do I need a consultation form?

Consultation forms help us tailor treatments safely and professionally to your individual needs.

Your therapist will review your medical history, lifestyle, and treatment goals before your appointment to ensure your treatment is both suitable and personalised to you.

All treatments are carried out by fully insured and professionally trained therapists.

How long is my treatment?

Treatment times are approximate and include time for consultation, changing, and aftercare guidance where needed.

We always allow time for you to leave your appointment feeling relaxed rather than rushed.

What if I arrive late?

We understand delays can occasionally happen.

If you arrive late, we will always do our best to provide your full treatment where possible. In some cases treatment time may need to be adjusted to avoid impacting later appointments.

What oils do you use?

We use high quality professional massage oils selected to nourish the skin while creating a smooth, luxurious treatment experience.

If you have allergies, sensitivities, or preferences, please let your therapist know before treatment.

Are there any medical conditions that may affect treatment?

Some medical conditions, recent surgeries, medications, or ongoing treatments may mean your treatment needs to be adapted or postponed.

Your therapist will always discuss suitability with you during your consultation to ensure treatment is safe, comfortable, and appropriate for your individual needs.

Hazelwood therapists are professionally trained, fully insured, and committed to delivering treatments with care and professionalism.

If you are currently under medical care or have any concerns before booking, please contact us and we will be happy to advise.

Will I feel sore after my massage?

Some clients feel deeply relaxed immediately after treatment, while others may experience mild tenderness depending on the pressure used and areas worked on.

This is completely normal and usually settles quickly. Drinking water and allowing yourself time to rest afterwards can help support recovery.

Do I need to talk during my treatment?

Not at all.

Some clients enjoy chatting while others prefer complete quiet and relaxation. Your treatment experience is entirely personal and your therapist will always follow your lead.
