Penny A. Brown, BBA โ Certified in Cybersecurity and AI
Penny began her career in New York City on Wall Street, working as a Junior Accountant with Oppenheimer Management โ building a strong foundation in financial systems, business operations, and banking. She later supported the VP of Banking and Corporate Finance at a major financial institution.
Over the years, her work expanded to include automating bookkeeping systems, leading employment workshops, supporting HRIS systems, and providing technical support in enterprise environments including Morgan Stanley and Apple. She earned multiple tax certifications and managed a tax office, gaining deep expertise in compliance, financial accuracy, and client trust.
Today, she helps businesses safely leverage AI automation by combining practical implementation, hands-on training, and cybersecurity solutions. Her unique combination of experience allows her to see both the opportunities and risks businesses face when adopting new technology โ and to guide them through it with confidence.
Her cybersecurity journey started with taking an undergraduate elective in Securities Policies โ acing the class and then interviewing for an internship with NOAA. She was inspired by the interview but decided against relocating. She remained curious, participating in a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition and winning three badges as a member of WiCyS (Women in Cybersecurity) and completing the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate in 2025, with ongoing work in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
Early in her career at Viacom International, she authored a training manual as an HRIS Assistant โ reinforcing her natural ability to make complex systems accessible and usable for real people.
These experiences led to the development of her Written Information Security Program (WISP) monitoring system, designed to help organizations protect sensitive data, strengthen security practices, and operate with compliance and confidence in a digital environment.
