Spontaneously discovered this gem on a Wednesday night when a nearby restaurant was full and could not be happier. The food was incredible and one of the owners, Panos, went above and beyond to teach us about the food and make our experience great.

If you are looking for somewhere to eat delicious authentic greek food and to have a wonderful evening, I cannot recommend Ouzo & Feta enough.

Simon K.

Excellent Greek food. The owner is very friendly and told me that on the weekends there is live music as well as special fish flown in directly from Greece. Sea Bream and Branzino.

There is Happy Hour specifically Tuesday to Friday 5pm - 6pm.

The Pick 2 Greek Spreads with Tzatziki and Hummus was great. They come with hot fresh pita triangles.

The Flaming Saganaki cheese was also great.

The Gyro Plate was good but next time I'll order the Gyro appetizer because the latter comes with diced tomatoes and onions. Nevertheless the Plate comes with flavorful Greek Potatoes and a nice rice.

Party ambience with lots of light.

We stopped in after much review and it was well worth the wait. Sunday night wasnt too packed. Alyssa served us and was pleasant and kind and polite. We started with the flaming feta moved on to the lamp chops and ended with the flaming dessert. Let me just say that every single dish was absolutely delish. The owner was here and visited with us. We had to compliment him. Authentic. Delicious.

About Greek Food and the Healthy Mediterranean Diet

OUZO & FETA BAR & GRILL RESTAURANT is located in
Flipside Point in Huntington Beach California.

HISTORY

Greek cuisine is the cuisine of Greece and the Greek diaspora. In common with many other cuisines of the Mediterranean, it is founded on the triad of wheat, olive oil, and wine. It uses vegetables, olive oil, grains, fish, and meat, including pork, poultry, veal and beef, lamb, rabbit, and goat. Other important ingredients include pasta (for example hilopites), cheeses, lemon juice, herbs, olives, and yogurt. Bread made of wheat is ubiquitous; other grains, notably barley, are also used, especially for paximathia. Common dessert ingredients include nuts, honey, fruits, sesame, and filo pastries. It continues traditions from Ancient Greek and Byzantine cuisine, while incorporating Turkish, Balkan, and Italian influences.

Pita (/ˈpɪtə/ or US: /ˈpiːtə/)[2] or pitta (British English) is a family of yeast-leavened round flatbreads baked from wheat flour, common in the Mediterranean, Levant, and neighboring areas. It includes the widely known version with an interior pocket, also known as Arabic bread (Arabic: خبز عربي; khubz ʿArabī). In the United Kingdom, Greek bread is used for pocket versions such as the Greek pita, and are used for barbecues as a souvlaki wrap.[3][4][1][5][6][7] The Western name pita may sometimes be used to refer to various other types of flatbreads that have different names in their local languages, such as numerous styles of Arab khubz (bread)

Lamb chops are a delectable culinary delight, offering a succulent and flavorful experience. These tender cuts of lamb, typically grilled or pan-seared to perfection, boast a juicy interior and a caramelized exterior. The natural richness of lamb is enhanced with aromatic herbs and spices, creating a harmonious blend of savory goodness. Whether marinated for extra depth or seasoned simply to let the meat shine, lamb chops are a gourmet delight that satisfies the palate with each savory bite. Perfect for special occasions or as a centerpiece for a memorable meal, lamb chops are a timeless and elegant choice in the world of culinary indulgence.

Greek seasoned steak skewers are a culinary delight that captures the essence of Mediterranean flavors. Succulent pieces of steak, typically marinated with a blend of olive oil, garlic, oregano, lemon, and other aromatic herbs, are threaded onto skewers and grilled to perfection. The result is a mouthwatering dish that showcases the rich, savory notes of the seasoned beef, complemented by the herbaceous and citrusy undertones of the marinade. Served with a side of tzatziki or a squeeze of lemon, these skewers offer a delightful combination of tenderness and bold Greek-inspired flavors, making them a perfect choice for a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Fire Feta is a tantalizing Greek appetizer that ignites the taste buds with its bold and spicy profile. This zesty dish typically features creamy feta cheese baked or grilled until golden and slightly melted. The magic happens with the addition of spicy elements such as red pepper flakes, hot peppers, or chili oil, infusing the feta with a fiery kick. Served warm and often drizzled with olive oil, Fire Feta offers a delightful contrast between the rich creaminess of the cheese and the intense heat of the spices. It's a dynamic and flavorful option for those who crave a bit of spice in their Mediterranean culinary experience.

Jalapeño hummus is a flavorful twist on the classic chickpea dip, combining the creaminess of traditional hummus with the bold kick of jalapeño peppers. In this spicy variation, jalapeños are blended into the chickpea and tahini mixture, adding a zesty heat that tingles the taste buds. The result is a harmonious balance of the nutty tahini, earthy chickpeas, and the vibrant spiciness of jalapeños.

Greek fries, also known as "patates tiganites" in Greek, are a delicious and distinctive variation of traditional french fries. These golden delights are typically made from thick-cut potatoes that are seasoned with a mix of Mediterranean herbs and spices, such as oregano, garlic powder, and sometimes a touch of lemon zest.

A gyro pita is a classic and delicious Greek street food that combines savory and flavorful elements in a convenient handheld package. It typically features slices of seasoned and spit-roasted meat, often lamb or chicken, stacked inside a soft and warm pita bread. The meat is complemented by a variety of accompaniments, including tomatoes, onions, and lettuce.

A Greek salad is a refreshing and iconic dish that celebrates the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean cuisine. Typically composed of crisp and juicy ingredients, it features a base of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions. Feta cheese, often crumbled and briny, is a key component, adding a creamy and tangy element. Kalamata olives, with their distinct rich flavor, and plump, ripe green peppers contribute to the salad's diverse taste profile. The salad is generously drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkled with dried oregano for an extra layer of aromatic essence.

Greek bottled beers such as Fix and Hellenic (commonly known as Hillas) offer a refreshing taste of Greece's beer culture. Fix, a classic Greek lager, presents a crisp and light option, perfect for warm Mediterranean days. Its smooth character with a slightly bitter undertone makes it a popular choice among beer enthusiasts. Hellas, on the other hand, is another well-known Greek lager with a balanced flavor profile. Brewed to be approachable, it often features a clean, malt-forward taste with a touch of bitterness, making it a versatile companion to various Greek dishes.

Flaming Galaktoboureko is a captivating variation of the classic Greek dessert. Galaktoboureko traditionally consists of layers of phyllo pastry enveloping a creamy custard filling, all soaked in sweet syrup. The flaming version adds a dramatic touch to the experience.

Before serving, the Galaktoboureko is sometimes doused in a flammable spirit, such as brandy or ouzo. The spirit is then ignited, creating a spectacular burst of flames that dance atop the dessert. This dramatic presentation not only adds a visual element but also imparts a subtle hint of the spirit's flavor to the dish.

Baklava (/bɑːkləˈvɑː, ˈbɑːkləvɑː/[1]or /bəˈklɑːvə/[2]) is a layered dessert made of filopastry sheets, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey. There are many competing proposals for the origin of baklava, but there is no consensus on which of the options is true. In modern times, it is a common in Greek ,Iranian ,Arab ,Turkish ,Levantine, and Maghrebi cuisine, as well as in the cuisines of South Caucasus ,Balkans , and Central Asia
