Achieve Financial Success as a Business Owner’s Perspective
As a business owner, my goal is to generate as much profit as possible.
Acknowledging my desire for money may feel more like an admission of guilt than pride; yet now is the time to claim back our earning potential and take charge of our earnings potential.
My pride in managing with so little ultimately made money the centerpiece of my life. Ironically, my pride made money my main priority.
What would I accomplish, create and contribute if my attention were focused elsewhere than just how to pay bills?
So, I shifted my energy from couponing, comparison shopping and rebates into making more money.
Though I was adept at saving and cutting back, the results of these strategies became limited over time; eventually you run out of things to cut, while your ability to earn more remained unlimited.
Wanting more money doesn’t just mean increasing income; it means seeing how limited income restricts your choices, freedom, generosity, peace of mind and quality of life as well as impacting those and causes that matter to you most.
Now is the time to change our attitudes toward earning more and take pride in ourselves for being so determined. Here are four steps to get us moving in this direction.
1. Make a Declaration
“I value what money has given me and would like to increase it.” Say this out loud and observe if there are any reactions from other people around you; notice whether your declaration may need any explanations or corrections from you.
2. Be Mindful
Take notice of any negative thoughts and emotions that arise when discussing financially successful individuals or making declarations of your own success.
3. Challenge Your Assumptions
To identify and reconsider negative associations. How would you finish this sentence: “I would like to make more money, but…”? Your response reveals beliefs you hold about what needs to happen and who needs to do it; challenge these by finding examples of people thriving despite similar circumstances.
4. Revamp Your Money Script
Change negative thinking around wealth accumulation with wealth-enhancing thoughts and mantras. Contemplate what more money could help you accomplish personally as well as publicly.
Recognizing and altering patterns and beliefs that hinder you from earning more are the first steps toward taking ownership of your income potential.
As business owners, embracing your desire to earn more is about creating both individual success and global impact. Let’s embrace our financial goals with pride and work towards them without apology!
