We're Jason & Himashi the navigators of this delightful circus, armed with a cup of liquid sanity to keep us everyone on track. Together, we're a tight-knit duo of explorers, creators, and adventurers, ready to share the laughter, lessons, and love that fill our family life, from Montessori marvels to Waldorf wonders and all the unexpected joy in between.
HERES OUR STORY...
IN COLLEGE
You see, Himashi was the chemistry tutor who came to Jason's academic rescue, helping him tackle the final frontier on his quest for a bachelor's degree. After successfully navigating the treacherous waters of chemical reactions and molecular structures together, they parted ways, armed with diplomas and a newfound appreciation for the magic of chemical bonds.
RECONNECTING
Three years later, fate orchestrated a reunion that would set their hearts on fire. Himashi liked a facebook post about Jason reqgrowing his dreadlock out and the rest was history.
MOVING ON IN
Jason and his two cats and Himashi moved in together in Richmond, Virginia. In an admirable endeavor to lower the feral cat population, Himashi and Jason embarked on an epic quest of fostering. The result? Two more black-and-white furry miscreants joined the ever-expanding furmily.
WEDDING BELLS
Five years of laughter, love, and countless hairballs later, they decided to seal the deal in 2015 with a marriage in Sri Lanka that was more stable than any chemical reaction they'd ever studied. Three months after saying "I do," they packed up their car and hit the road, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Virginia for the enchanting lands of Oregon. Their mission? To create a new life while (legally) getting married along the way at a drive-thru wedding venue called Chapel of the Bells in Reno with their 4 cats in attendance in their vehicle.
SETTLING IN
After completing their cross-country road trip from VA to OR in 5 days in a 20ft Penske towing one vehicle and the other vehicle being driven behind the whole way, the duo settled into the stunning agricultural landscapes of Scio, later the vibrant energy of Springfield, and finally, the charm of Eugene, where they've settled into their forever home in 2021.

But the adventure didn't stop there! To their joy, they welcomed two adorable, brilliant boys into their ever-expanding equation in 2019 and 2021.

Our youngest kiddo, 2.5 years old isn't just into music; they've got their own backstage pass to the symphony of life. From headbanging air guitar solos at breakfast to impromptu dance-offs in the living room, they're the headliner of their very own musical tour everyday.
The Mini Engineer Extraordinaire
First up just having turned 4 in September is our engineering pro, turning everyday items into construction masterpieces. Legos, paperclips, and rubber bands? They've got it all figured out, even if we don't always understand their brilliant blueprints.
DAD
From headbanger to dad-bowler extraordinaire! Meet Jason the former metal vocalist who traded in his screaming lyrics for screaming kids.
Once the frontman of a band now melts hearts with his dad jokes and lullabies. 🎤➡️👨👦👦
When he's not exploring the world with his two little rockstars-in-training, you can find him always on a culinary adventure, turning the kitchen into his own personal mosh pit of flavors. And if you ever challenge him to a game of bowling, be prepared for a strike... of pure dad-bod skill. So, whether he's swapping metal anthems for nursery rhymes or turning dinner time into a foodie concert, Jason knows how to rock the dad life!
MOM
When Inot teaching or wrangling kids and cats, Himashi is a budding amateur photographer, capturing the beauty of both her exotic plants and the delightful chaos of family life.
In her spare time (whenever that happens), you'll find her cultivating my garden oasis, where she's growing both plants and patience. Also enjoys playing and teaching her kids billiards, tennis, and bowling.
