HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! This was our first time in Kenya and on safari and it was very difficult to find a camp that felt luxurious and was not commercial (felt like a hotel) we wanted something that felt special and Kenyan. We found it. The staff are so special. Every interaction showed that the people care about the guests, their smiles, stories and care for us will remain in our hearts forever. We really enjoyed the game drives with Daniel and Julius, our meals with Alfred and big thank you to the chef, the impeccable quality of the rooms and the special touches like the laundry, wake up call and warmed beds from Daniel, the expert cocktails from Solomon, the hot towels upon arrival and the great booking service from Linda, Judy and Sharon, the Maasai run with Alex, Richard, Cheryl, Stella and Julius, the lion hunting with John, the telescope watching, board games, the river walk with the Maasai warrior and the hippos waking us in the morning. An Exceptional Ngorongoro Stay! We had the most amazing two day stay at Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge. From the moment we arrived it was obvious that our satisfaction was paramount. Our driver/safari guide Samuel was exceptional from the moment he picked us up from the airstrip. He was kind, knowledgeable and a very capable driver. Our safaris were so much fun, with lots of large animal sightings over the two days. Samuel was very knowledgeable about the animals and area. The food at the lodge and provided ‘picnic style’ on our drives was the nicest food we’ve experienced in Africa. The rooms are beautifully presented, and spacious with the most beautiful views over the forest. We saw elephants and a brown buck from our balcony!
Fantastic service, delicious food and practical location. We utterly enjoyed this lodge It’s practically located close to the crater. It’s gives you Our of Africa feeling, with beautifully manicured flowerbeds, grass areas and lodge surroundings. It’s overlooks the jungle that creeps from the crater and if you are lucky you can see elephants and buffalo’s while you are sipping a glass of wine on your porch.
Ngorongoro stay? Look no further! Location: excellent spot atop a hillside literally 5 mins from Ngorongoro entrance Atmosphere: very jungly and beautiful scenery, lush trees with organic garden and herbs growing. Safe with guards and staff always present Rooms: Our room was incredible! Balcony overseeing the hill side with elephants visiting below, spacious, hot hot hot water, all the amenities you need
Wonderful Luxury Lodge beautifully situated on the Mara River. We stayed at Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Camp for four nights, and it truly exceeded every expectation. The camp is beautifully set along the Mara River, where we could watch hippos and other wildlife. We even spotted two lions right from the pool area.
Once in a lifetime experience which made it a wonderful memory we will always appreciate. From the luxurious tents to the location right on the river this place is a must do in Kenya. It is a well oiled machine! They pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi & transfer you to Wilson airport for the short flight to Masai Mara where you will be meet by your guide. The staff & amenities are which make Neptune. It has a definite luxury feel with a family warmth. You have your own butler, waiter & driver. All vegetables are grown in their own organic gardens and the food onsite is exceptional. 5 courses for lunch & dinner. We stayed 4 nights & did a safari on all 4 days saw all the big 5 it was incredible our guide was so knowledgeable as to info on the animals but also where we could find them. Last day on our way to the airstrip he spots a cheetah sitting in a tree. 🙌🙌 had a leopard walk past our jeep that I could have stroked its back. We never would have expected to see half the animals we did.
This camp is next to the river with hippos, tents are amazing, zebra bar so much fun - great Bartender Kelvin. Great spa, and lobby shared space. Exceptional food, waiter Alfred, and John (food manager), care and concern to excellence was perfect. Had no issues with mosquitoes . Listening to hippos at night was magical. Game drives totally amazing with our guide David. All of ancillary staff perfect. Had our own butler Fredrick, he was Great. Stayed in Loisaba first for 3 nights and here for 3 nights, 2 wonderfully different and amazing experiences. Booked through Kensington tours with Pankaj sen Gupta, a wonderful destination expert in Kenya.
From the moment we stepped into Neptune, we were greeted by John and Sharon. Their hospitality aswell as the rest of staff was impeccable. We really felt at home during our 2 night safari stay. It was nice to have Dickson the chef actually come out to speak with us about the food which was AMAZING! The food options were so good and presented so well. Even better our waiter Alfred was always smiling, professional and just a joy to be served by. And lastly Moses our butler was great, always on hand for anything we needed + our wake up calls were never late and even when making up our rooms, he even placed hot water bottles in the bed for us to remain warm, (which I’ve never had any accommodation do before). The grounds are wonderful, with Hippos on site which adds great viewing. Our room was nice and big, a great shower and bathroom, honestly what an incredible place, just a shame we were only there for 2 nights. The staff really do help enhance the Lodge which is wonderful.
It was indeed luxury and lovely..I went on a safari with Untamed Expeditions..and it was first rate all the way…this was-our 3rd place & it was just sublime..I haven’t one complaint…al the way down to the hot water bottles in your bed acting Dow..it fireplaces when you return from a scrumptious dinner. Naps by the pool after a 7 hour game ride was divine…there was an sos that I didn’t get to experience …but it looked very lovely…I would love to come back soon.
We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful property at the gates of the crater Ngorongoro. Everything was perfect: from the staff to the little care, to the best food of our 7-day trip in Tanzania , great massage ... and what about our perfectly arranged lodge , located on the front line with the breathtaking view on the lush slopes of the Ngorongoro where we were lucky enough to be able to observe from our terrace countless animals and especially elephants!!!

When is the best time to visit?
East Africa rewards you year-round, but timing shapes the experience.
For the Great Wildebeest Migration at Mara Rianta in the Masai Mara, the peak spectacle runs from July through October, when the herds cross the Mara River, and the plains are at their most dramatic.
The Serengeti sees the herds from November through May, with calving season in January and February offering a completely different, equally extraordinary chapter of the migration.
Ngorongoro Crater offers exceptional game viewing throughout the year — its resident wildlife does not migrate, meaning any month delivers.

Do I have to visit all three lodges, or can I choose just one or two?
The full three-lodge journey is the experience we are most proud of — but it is never a requirement.
Some guests choose a single lodge and spend their time going deep into one ecosystem. Others combine two locations. Some return year after year, adding a new chapter each time. There is no fixed itinerary and no obligation to do it all at once.
Your concierge will help you design exactly the journey that fits your timeframe, your interests, and what you want to take home from it. Whether that is five days in the Masai Mara or ten days moving across all three locations, the experience is yours to define.
What is included in the safari experience?
Almost everything — by design.
From the moment you land, Neptune takes care of the rest. All accommodation, meals, game drives, park and conservancy fees, and all transfers between lodges are included. The only thing you arrange independently is your international flight to and from East Africa. Everything from your first game drive to your last sundowner is handled.

Is a Neptune safari suitable for families?
Africa at this depth is an experience that stays with children for the rest of their lives.
Our concierge team will advise on the best lodge and timing combination for families based on the ages of your children and the experiences you want to share together.
How does the journey between the three lodges work?
Every transfer is arranged and seamless.
Movement between the Masai Mara, the Serengeti, and Ngorongoro is handled through scheduled light aircraft flights between airstrips — one of the defining pleasures of the East African safari experience. Flying over the Serengeti plains or watching the Crater emerge below you from the air is a highlight in its own right. Ground transfers are arranged where applicable. You will receive a full logistics brief from your concierge before departure so that every arrival and departure feels effortless.
Is it safe?
East Africa's major national parks and conservancies operate to exacting safety standards, and Neptune's guides are experienced, trained, and deeply familiar with the behaviour of wildlife in each specific ecosystem.
With over 40 years of hosting guests across Kenya and Tanzania, Neptune has an exceptional safety record. You will receive a full safety orientation on arrival at each lodge. For added peace of mind, travel and medical insurance — including access to emergency evacuation services — is strongly recommended for all guests.
Do I need a visa?
Yes — both Kenya and Tanzania require entry visas.
Kenya requires an Electronic Travel Authorisation, which can be obtained online before departure. Tanzania requires a visa, also available online or on arrival. If your journey combines both countries — as the full three-lodge experience does — you will need documentation for both. Your concierge will provide full visa guidance specific to your nationality as part of the pre-travel process.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better — particularly for peak season travel.
The Masai Mara during the Great Migration (July to October) and the Serengeti during calving season (January to February) are in high demand. Neptune's lodges accommodate a limited number of guests by design, which means availability during these windows fills quickly. We recommend beginning your planning conversation at least six to twelve months in advance for preferred dates.
