Best things in life are FREE!

March 24, 20232 min read

Have you heard this saying?

"Best things in life are FREE" ?

I happen to agree with this 100%. It is so easy in today's living to get lost in the scrolling of social media and 'window shopping' into others life's.

Wondering how it would be like if …

  • I had more money

  • I had her/his looks

  • If my body looked like theirs

  • If I could afford that

  • If I could travel there

  • If I could live there

the list can go on and on....and once you lift up your head, you are faced with your reality... the reality you wake up to every day.

If this is you, I want to challenge you to create a new reality for your self.

HOW? Glad you asked!

If you follow me, you may suspect that I'm a big Jesus fan 🙌 and if you are not following me now is your chance 😆 @moneyrenovation in the instagrams of the world 😆

This past week I felt the Lord pulling me away from the rabbit whole I was taking myself in social media... the rabbit whole of comparison. YES I was doing that but the Lord pulled me away so that I could spend time with Him. I did. I love listening to Lisa Harper, Joyce Meyers, reading devotionals, and learning how to navigate the bible.

During this time I am learning that as we walk in our own shoes, creating our own reality, and moving forward ALL of this becomes lighter when we do it with Him. With Jesus.

I encourage you to:

  1. Download the bible app in your phone

  2. Look for a devotional (maybe you and your spouse can do this together) - there are awesome devotionals on money, being a good steward, money anxiety, kids and money, marriage and money.... so many!

  3. Commit to reading the word everyday. (you may find 3 day devotionals - take baby steps)

  4. Write down the things you are thankful for. Write down your thoughts. Reflect on these things.

I tell you, the best things in life are FREE... like the bible app!

As you start opening the door for our Lord to come in, your reality will start looking brighter. Walking in your shoes will feel better. You wont want or need to walk in anyone else's shoes and compare you life to others.

p.s. I would love to know what devotional you are reading even if its not relating to money. Share with me by tagging me @moneyrenovation!
