================================

As Israel journeyed through the wilderness, they came near the land of Edom.

From a human perspective, it may have seemed like an opportunity.

The land was there.

The people were near.

And Israel was strong.

But God gave a clear command.

Do not fight them.
Do not take their land.
Do not interfere.

Why?

Because that land already belonged to someone else.

God had given it to Esau.

This moment reveals a truth that is deeply relevant today.

Respecting what God has given others is part of obedience.

Sometimes the greatest test of faith is not receiving something—

It is walking past something that is not yours.

In today’s world, comparison is constant.

We see other people’s success.

Their business.

Their lifestyle.

Their opportunities.

And it is easy to think:

“Why not me?”

But Deuteronomy 2 reminds us of something important.

God distributes blessings with purpose.

What someone else has is not an accident.

It is assigned.

And what God has for you will not require you to take from someone else.

Israel had a promise.

But it was not Edom.

Their land was still ahead.

And if they trusted God, they would receive it in time.

This teaches us a powerful principle.

Envy leads to striving.

But trust leads to peace.

When we respect what God has given to others, we free ourselves from comparison.

We stop competing.

We stop forcing outcomes.

And we begin walking in alignment with God's plan for our own lives.

Because what is truly yours—

God will give.

Step by Step: Living Without Comparison
