As the sole organization representing your interests in Springfield, the Illinois Pawnbrokers Association (IPA) is essential for the security and advancement of our industry.
This critical work is made possible by the dedicated time and resources of volunteer pawnbrokers.
By joining the IPA, you provide crucial support for these ongoing efforts.
Membership also connects you with fellow pawnbrokers across the state—trusted peers who share insights, offer support, and strengthen the profession through collaboration.

Keep in mind that in order to receive your Pawnbroker License from the State of Illinois, you must complete the Responsible Pawnbroker Training by November 30th each year.
You do not have to be a member of the Illinois Pawnbrokers Association (IPA), but membership is encouraged. It helps you stay up to date on state regulations and offers discounts for multiple store locations.
Each store must have its own training certificate—one certificate per license number. The training fee is $750 per location, with discounts available for IPA members who operate more than one store as reflected in the order form on this page.
