Who Needs to Complete Training?
According to the Pawnbroker Regulation Act of 2023 (205 ILCS 511/10-65(a)), any person who manages or is an employee of a pawnbroker that provides pawnbroker services and related functions must complete the required training.
Does Each Employee Need a Login?
No. There is only one login that will encompass all stores and employees.
What does the $750 cover?
The $750 fee covers training for employees at one licensed pawn store location. Multiple-store operators are required to pay for training at each of their store locations. Even if employees travel from one store to another, each store location is required to pay for training. The fee for that training is $750. Note: IPA members receive a discount on multiple locations.

DON'T WANT TO JOIN IPA?
Keep in mind that in order to receive your Pawnbroker License from the State of Illinois, you must complete the Responsible Pawnbroker Training by November 30th each year.
You do not have to be a member of the Illinois Pawnbrokers Association (IPA), but membership is encouraged. It helps you stay up to date on state regulations and offers discounts for multiple store locations.
Each store must have its own training certificate—one certificate per license number. The training fee is $750 per location, with discounts available for IPA members who operate more than one store as reflected in the order form on this page.
