How your booking works

To secure your portrait experience in the studio calendar, a fully refundable £20 booking deposit is required.

  • The deposit simply reserves your chosen date and time.

  • It is returned to you in full at your in-person ordering appointment.

  • Alternatively, you can choose to use it as studio credit towards any portraits or wall art you fall in love with.

  • If you need to move your date, just give as much notice as possible so we can offer your slot to another family.

Your voucher covers your session fee and any included artwork or credit as detailed on the voucher itself. The deposit simply ensures your time in the studio is reserved just for you.

Every portrait session is carefully planned and styled so that your time in the studio feels calm, relaxed and truly special.

Your voucher gives you access to this full experience. The refundable deposit simply helps reduce no‑shows and allows Mel to give each family the time they deserve.

Enhance your portrait experience

There is absolutely no obligation to spend anything beyond what is already included with your voucher.

However, many families do choose to upgrade their artwork once they see their finished portraits for the first time.

Upgrade your voucher

At your in‑person ordering appointment, you’ll see a carefully curated selection of your images. If you wish, you can upgrade your voucher to include additional digital files, prints or collections.

Heirloom wall art

You’ll also have the option to invest in stunning wall art and memory boxes, designed to suit your home. Every piece is produced using archival quality materials so your memories can be enjoyed for generations.

You’re always in control

Mel will guide you through all of the options with clear pricing before you make any decisions. What you choose to purchase beyond your voucher is entirely up to you.

Most families invest further because they adore their images, but there is never any pressure.

What happens after you book

  • You’ll receive an instant confirmation email with your chosen date and time.

  • Detailed Session Preparation information will be emailed automatically, with tips on what to wear, how to prepare, and what to bring.

  • Mel may be in touch personally if there are any specific details to plan, especially for newborn, maternity or cake smash sessions.

  • A reminder email will be sent closer to your session to ensure everything feels easy and stress‑free.

If you have any questions at all before your session, you’re always welcome to reply to your confirmation email or contact the studio directly.

From your first email to the moment you collect your finished artwork, you’ll be guided at every step. The aim is for the whole journey to feel relaxed, organised and genuinely enjoyable for the whole family.

Voucher Terms & Conditions

The following terms apply to all Mel Morland Photography gift vouchers and portrait experiences, including Mother’s Day, Newborn, Cake Smash, Family and Maternity sessions

  • Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Sessions must be booked and photographed within this timeframe unless otherwise stated on your voucher.

  • Clients are responsible for their own travel arrangements to the studio, including any associated costs such as parking or accommodation if required.

  • An in‑person ordering appointment is required to claim any portraits, products or studio credits included with your voucher.

  • Only one voucher per household/family can be redeemed in any 18‑month period, unless explicitly stated otherwise by the studio.

  • Vouchers are non‑transferable and hold no cash value. They cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless specified.

  • Session dates may be rescheduled with reasonable notice, subject to studio availability and voucher expiry.

  • The booking deposit and voucher will be forfeited if you fail to attend your session or your scheduled ordering appointment without 48 hours' notice.
