Art deco style swept across the globe between 1908 and 1935, adding a hint of magic to everything it touched.  Just like the Loughborough apartment, the style celebrates fun, fantasy and glamour.

Rich jewel colours and decorative touches adorn this city centre gem, which offers the unexpected bonus of a generous private outdoor space in the heart of the city.  The large balcony leads off the lounge area to the rear of the building and offers a stunning vantage point.  This lofty perch is the perfect spot to appreciate the views of the cathedral soaring above the city’s skyline.  Enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple al-fresco, while drinking in the sight of the magnificent spires silhouetted against a clear Cornish blue sky.

It is this marvellous view that inspired us to name the apartment after the cathedral’s designer, architect John Loughborough Pearson.  The cathedral was finally completed in 1910, near the start of the Art Deco era, and we felt this gave us a perfect excuse to draw on the era’s style to create a sumptuous and cocooning retreat. 

Inside, the apartment offers a well-designed kitchen, living and dining area with some charming vintage touches.  The velvet sofa easily converts into a bed for extra guests, while the luxe glass and gold dining table comfortably accommodates four in sumptuous velvet armchairs.

The gorgeously bijoux bedroom is relaxing and glamorous as you would expect, with extra ottoman storage under the teal velvet bed should you require.

The bathroom boasts a generously sized shower, with a carrara marble floor and vanity top, and is painted in a typically deco emerald hue.   

A stay in the Loughborough won’t disappoint, and we promise that the balcony views make the stairs to the second floor more than worth the effort.  Spend as long as you like catching your breath in the comfortable deckchairs…
