How is the market?

How is the market is a question I get asked a lot. The truth is that the only real and most accurate

answer is that it depends on you.

Unlike what most people think, it is the best method of deciding when to buy or sell real estate. For me

and my team, we believe at our core that how’s the market depends on the intent of the person asking

the question. So what if everyone is selling, if it isn’t the right time for you then don’t sell. If everyone is

buying, if it isn’t a good time for you then don’t buy.

Buying and selling real estate isn’t a one size fits all type of thing. When it is best for you will depend largely

on what your short term and long term plans are for you, your money, and your family. No one has a crystal

ball that can predict what exactly is going to happen with the market. With that being said, there are clear

indicators and trends that we can use to get pretty close to figuring out what might be coming down the pike.

What do I mean about what is your intent?

Lets say you want to invest into real estate for retirement income and have a long term strategy. If this is the

case then the price of what you pay for the property isn’t as important as the properties potential to generate

income right now and down the road. Lets say it’s your first home. If this is the case then maybe you know this

won’t be your forever home so you find something that maybe has 80% of what you would want in your dream

home and do this knowing that in the future you will be selling this home to buy your dream one.

Maybe you are an investor who is looking to buy something to fix and flip. If this is the case then how the market

is doing now, the time of the year, and the price of the property is something that would be on the top of your list

of what you have to pay attention to.

As you can see it does depend on what your intent is. The market will always do what it does and we’ll never be able

to buy a home for what someone could for 50 years ago. So don’t let yourself get influenced by what others are

saying or what others are doing, always make the decision that is best for you now and in the future.

Don’t let anyone pressure you into doing anything and always make sure that you are taking everything into

consideration when thinking of either buying or selling your real estate.
