Beyond the 101 is a structured experiential, live taught online programme for professionals who work with people in contracts for personal change and who want to bring the clarity and depth of TA into coaching and the phenomenon of coaching into TA in a way that is clinically sound and professionally competent.

Offered to you in a way that meets the requirements for counting every hour of learning with the global TA community so that this learning will count toward your training and ultimately your qualification as a Transactional Analyst. 

Offered by a certified coach and certifiable as an ICF CCE so that you can use this programme toward your certification or re - certification.

This 8 module live taught course teaches you how to apply, integrate and use TA and coaching with

clear theory, applied tools and supported integration into your own client work. You will explore ego

states, belief systems, relational dynamics and client decision making through the lens of both TA and

coaching, with attention to scope, contracting and ethical alignment throughout.

Module 4: Strokes and Time Structuring

Learn about strokes and their psychological impact

Explore stroke economy, permissions and social time

Understand how clients seek validation and structure relational spaceApplication: Use strokes to support motivation and observe how time structuring plays out in session work

Module 5: Rackets, Psychological Hungers and Trading Stamps

Define racket feelings and the payoff system

Identify unmet hungers in client narratives

Learn the emotional build up that leads to ruptures

Application: Recognise emotional patterns and support clients to meet needs through empowered decision-making

Module 6: Life Positions, Psychological Games and the Drama Triangle

Explore the four life positions and their influence on relationships

Understand how psychological games function and repeat

Learn the Winner’s Triangle as an alternative map

Application: Use models to support client reflection and reduce repeated drama cycles in coaching

Module 7: Scripts and Drivers

Identify life scripts and core beliefs

Learn how drivers, injunctions and permissions shape client choices

Use the script matrix to map internal narratives

Application: Help clients surface unconscious patterns and invite new beliefs into conscious choice

Module 8: Autonomy, Permission and Integration

Define autonomy as awareness, spontaneity and intimacy

Explore permission and protection in the change process

Practise integrating TA theory within coaching delivery

Application: Build a TA-informed coaching model to support your current practice and future development

Jen Finney CTA, PTSTA (P)

Jen is a Certified Transactional Analyst, qualified supervisor, and Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst. She brings clarity, rigour and relational depth to her teaching, with years of experience supporting practitioners across coaching and psychotherapy to integrate TA with confidence and care.

Because of Jen's qualifications and position in the TA community, the hours you spend on this programme will count toward your Transactional Analysis qualification and / or your continuing professional development.

Lucy Power PCC, MSW

Lucy is a professionally certified coach with the International Coaching Federation, a qualified professional and clinical supervisor and is extensively trained and experienced in Transactional Analysis for psychotherapy, groups and organisational work. She has been training coaches in how to apply Transactional Analysis within coaching since 2016. Lucy is the founder of Therapeutic Coaching Academy and the creator of The TRP Method®. Her work focuses on bringing depth, rigour and relational potency into professional coaching contexts.
