Lucy graduated from Kings College London with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2000. She gained a
broad knowledge base in neurology, orthopaedics, respiratory and medicine for the elderly whilst at
Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Lucy was then seconded to the University of Cambridge to a neuro-physiotherapy research post,
where she investigated the motor imagery as a rehab tool for those with upper limb impairment
after stroke. She became a team leader within a Cambridgeshire community rehabilitation team and
alongside this completed an MSc in Health Sciences (Rehabilitation Theme) at University of East
Anglia in 2011.
Lucy then worked as a team leader within general and stroke specific NHS community rehabilitation
teams before working as a private neuro-physiotherapist. She has completed many post-graduate
courses including spasticity management, gait analysis and rehabilitation, facial rehabilitation,
vestibular rehabilitation and physiotherapy for those with functional neurological disorder. She has
also undergone medico-legal training and has experience working as an expert witness within adult
neurology.
Lucy also works part time as a senior lecturer in physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire and
has recently become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Lucy is a member of Association of
Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN) and the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered
Physiotherapists (MLACP)
Lucy lives in Bedfordshire with her family. She enjoys exercise, travelling and watching films.
