1. Sponsor
The Bad Tattoo Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Handlebar Marketing and Bright Sky Aesthetics (together, the “Sponsors”). The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any social media platform.
2. Eligibility
Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age and eligible to receive tattoo removal services under North Carolina law. Employees, officers, directors, agents, contractors, and immediate family members of the Sponsors and their affiliates are not eligible.
3. Contest Period
Submission Window:
8:00 AM EST March 13, 2026 – 11:59 PM EST April 30, 2026
Voting Period:
Entries will be posted on Sponsor's social media on May 5, 2026.
Voting runs 8:00 AM EST May 5 – 11:59 PM EST May 22, 2026.
Winner Announcement:
Winners will be notified by email and publicly posted by May 31, 2026.
All times are Eastern Standard Time.
4. How to Enter
-One (1) entry per person.
-Entrants must upload an image of their “bad” tattoo.
-Submissions must comply with any posted content standards.
-Submissions will be publicly posted with an assigned number only; entrant names will not be displayed.
-Incomplete, inaccurate, or late submissions may be disqualified.
-Current NC Residents only
-Eligible residents must live in one of the following counties: Wake, Johnston, Nash, Franklin, Wilson, Edgecombe, Durham, Vance, Granville, Harnett, Pitt, Warren, Halifax, & Wayne Counties
5. Voting and Winner Determination
Winners are determined by the total number of reactions (likes, loves, etc.) received across all Sponsor social media platforms during the voting period.
Votes will be aggregated across Sponsor accounts; the entry with the most reactions wins.
Sponsors may disqualify submissions or adjust results for fraudulent activity or violations.
6. Prizes
Grand Prize:
Full tattoo removal of the submitted tattoo.
No cash value.
Second Place:
50% off tattoo removal of the submitted tattoo.
Third Place:
25% off tattoo removal of the submitted tattoo.
All Eligible Entrants:
10% off tattoo removal.
Discounts apply only to the tattoo submitted and must be redeemed according to the Sponsor’s scheduling and medical eligibility policies.
7. Prize Acceptance and Forfeiture
Winners must respond to the notification within seven (7) calendar days to claim their prize. If unclaimed, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible runner-up.
8. Publicity and Use of Submissions
By entering, all entrants grant Sponsors the right to share their tattoo images and use them for promotional and marketing purposes. Entrants understand that posts and comments may highlight aspects of their tattoos (e.g., style, spelling, design).
Images will be posted without names; entries will be identified by number.
Entrants agree not to hold Sponsors responsible for negative feedback, comments, or reactions to their submitted image.
9. North Carolina Statutory Compliance
This Contest is intended to comply with applicable North Carolina laws governing promotional contests and prizes:
NC General Statutes § 75-33: Requires clear disclosure of contest sponsorship, conditions, number of prizes, and material conditions immediately adjacent to description of the prize.
NC General Statutes § 75-32: Governs representations about winning and prohibits misleading representations that a participant has already won without meeting all conditions.
No purchase or payment is required to enter or win, in order to avoid treatment as an illegal lottery under NC law. Sweepstakes contests that include chance-based prize determination must allow free entries.
Contest is not a game of chance operated via electronic gaming device under NC Gen Stat § 14-306.4.
Entrants agree that any dispute will be resolved under North Carolina law, and consent to jurisdiction in state or federal courts in North Carolina.
10. General Conditions
Sponsors reserve the right to modify, suspend, cancel, or terminate the Contest or any part of it if fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond their control corrupt the administration, integrity, or proper play of the Contest.
Entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsors, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their respective officers and employees, from any liability for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever arising out of or in connection with participation in the Contest or the acceptance, ownership, or use of any prize.
