Former Miss Universe CEO Anne Jakrajutatip has been sentenced to two years in prison without suspension after being found guilty of fraud by a Bangkok court, marking a dramatic legal downfall for the once-celebrated media executive.

According to court records reported by Thai media, Jakrajutatip was convicted in connection with a 30-million-baht corporate bond investment, where the court ruled that she and JKN Global Group deliberately provided false information and concealed material facts from an investor.

The Bangkok South Kwaeng Court determined that the complainant was persuaded to invest despite the company’s known financial difficulties and inability to repay the investment on the agreed date. Jakrajutatip did not appear in court and is currently reported to be at large.

As part of the ruling, JKN Global Group was fined 40,000 baht, while Jakrajutatip received a two-year prison sentence. The verdict follows months of mounting scrutiny over JKN’s financial practices, which previously led to restructuring efforts and regulatory investigations.

Before her legal troubles intensified, Jakrajutatip stepped down as CEO of the Miss Universe Organization in June. She was replaced by Mario Bucaro, who later resigned earlier this month. JKN Global Group remains a co-owner of Miss Universe alongside Legacy Holding Group.

Once praised as a trailblazer who reshaped global pageantry and media, Jakrajutatip’s conviction now stands as a stark reminder that corporate leadership carries legal accountability beyond brand image and public influence.

As enforcement actions continue, the case has become one of the most high-profile business fraud convictions involving a global entertainment figure in recent years.
