What Makes Alleviating Hands Different | Holistic Bodywork Utah

April 24, 20264 min read

There are a lot of places in Utah you can get a massage. We’re not trying to be most of them.

When people find Alleviating Hands, they’ve usually already tried the other options. The chain spa with a new therapist every time. The clinic that feels more like a production line than a healing space. The one-off session that felt great for two days and then faded into nothing.

We built something different — on purpose.

This week, we want to pull back the curtain a little. Not to sell you something, but because we believe you deserve to know exactly what you’re walking into and why we do things the way we do.

“This isn’t a transaction. It’s a partnership built around your healing.”

A Mixed Modality Approach That Actually Moves You

Most bodywork studios offer one thing. A table massage. Maybe assisted stretching. We designed our practice around something different: the belief that your body responds better when it’s met with multiple, complementary approaches in a single session.

Our signature offering, MobiliThai, is a mat-based, dynamic stretching modality rooted in the StretchA method — developed by Sandra Jersby. It’s slower and more energetically connected than passive table-based stretch therapy. It’s not yoga. It’s not Thai massage in the traditional sense. It’s its own thing — and clients feel the difference immediately.

We layer this with targeted massage therapy to address tissue-level restriction, fascial tension, and areas of chronic holding. The result is a session that doesn’t just feel good in the moment — it creates real, lasting change in how your body moves and feels day to day.

We call this our mixed modality dynamic approach. You might just call it the first time your body has finally exhaled in years.

16 Years of Lived Experience in the Room

Tracy brings 16 years of hands-on practice as a massage therapist to every session. That’s not a credential we mention to impress you. It’s relevant because after 16 years in a body of work, a practitioner stops guessing and starts listening.

You can’t fake that kind of intuition. The ability to feel where a client is holding before they’ve said a word. To know when to push and when to back off. To understand that what shows up in someone’s shoulder often started somewhere else entirely.

Tracy’s approach is rooted in deep respect for the body’s intelligence — and a genuine belief that healing is a collaboration, not something that happens to you on a table.

We Go Where the Learning Is

Earlier this year, we traveled to Los Angeles for advanced training with international bodywork teachers. This June, we’re flying to Spain for the same reason.

We go because growth is non-negotiable for us. Because the field of bodywork and movement therapy is always evolving, and we want to bring the best of what’s happening globally back into our practice — and into your sessions.

We also go because we believe the practitioners who keep learning are the ones worth trusting. When you come to Alleviating Hands, you’re not working with someone who figured it all out and stopped there. You’re working with practitioners who are still curious, still growing, still deeply invested in the craft.

“We travel because the work deserves it. And so do you.”

A Membership Model Built Around Reality

Here’s something we hear all the time: “I know I need to come more consistently, but I just can’t make it work financially.”

We heard that enough that we built our entire business model around solving it.

Our membership structure was designed with one goal: to make weekly bodywork affordable and realistic for real people with real lives. Not as a luxury. Not as something you budget for when things are going well. As a foundational, recurring part of how you take care of yourself.

Because here’s what we’ve seen in 16 years of practice: the people who come consistently are the ones who actually heal. The ones who come when it gets bad, get relief, and then disappear — they come back in the same condition six months later. Healing doesn’t work on an as-needed schedule. It works on a consistent one.

“Consistency is the key to ALL success.”

Our membership tiers are structured so that the frequency your body actually needs — weekly — doesn’t require you to choose between self-care and rent. We designed it this way because we believe access to real healing shouldn’t be a privilege.

This Is What We Built It For

We’re not the studio for everyone. We’re the studio for the person who’s ready to stop treating their body like a problem to manage and start treating it like something worth investing in.

If that resonates with you — if you’re ready for something more intentional, more consistent, and more connected — we’d love for you to come in.

We’ll meet you where you are. And we’ll keep showing up for you every week after that.

With care,
