AI tools like ChatGPT are everywhere now, and while they can be great for learning, using them on school assessments comes with serious risks. In this video, I’ll break down what actually happens if a student is caught using ChatGPT (or any AI) to complete an assignment.

We’ll cover:

✅ The All My Own Work program in NSW and what it teaches about plagiarism

✅ Why AI-generated work can be flagged as plagiarism

✅ Possible penalties—from losing marks to receiving zero for the entire assessment

✅ How investigations are carried out when AI use is suspected

✅ The difference between using AI as a learning tool vs. an assessment shortcut

While AI is an amazing tool for study and research (and yes, even teachers use it!), it’s not a substitute for demonstrating your own knowledge in assessments. Schools are still figuring out how AI fits into education, but for now—students need to be very cautious.
