About This Pathway

This is not product training.

Dermaviduals education is a progressive, physiology-driven pathway designed to develop barrier-literate, formulation-confident, clinically strategic practitioners. This structured pathway moves professionals from foundational understanding to advanced clinical execution and scientific leadership.

Level 01

Dermaviduals Foundations

Understanding the Skin

The scientific and philosophical entry point into corneotherapeutic practice. Foundations is the prerequisite for all advanced Dermaviduals training.

This course establishes the scientific and philosophical framework behind dermaviduals and corneotherapy, helping practitioners understand the skin as a self-regulating biological system rather than a surface to be aggressively treated.

Available in-person and online

Core Curriculum

  • Corneotherapy principles — the skin as a self-regulating organ, barrier defense hierarchy, repair before stimulation, inflammation as a primary driver of ageing and dysfunction
  • DMS® Technology & Lamellar Architecture — structure of Derma Membrane Structure, mimicking physiological lipid bilayers, transepidermal water loss and lipid organization
  • Ingredient Functionality — lipids (ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids), anti-inflammatory actives, sebum-modulating agents, pigmentation regulators, and why certain ingredients are intentionally excluded
  • Product System Logic — base creams and their architecture, concentrate strategy, serum layering principles, when not to formulate
Learning Outcomes

By completion, practitioners understand barrier physiology deeply, can explain DMS® technology with confidence, understand every base and concentrate, begin safe customization, and shift from product-based thinking to biological thinking.

Level 02

Applied Clinical Lab Series

Working With the Skin

Hands-on training focused on treatment delivery, technique, and clinical application. The Applied Clinical Lab Series translates theory into practice.

These labs are designed to be highly interactive and participatory, allowing practitioners to develop confidence in delivering dermaviduals treatments through hands-on learning and guided practice.

In-person · Prerequisite: Foundations
Applied Clinical Lab 1

Treatment Protocols & Professional Mask Applications

Focus: Delivering dermaviduals facial treatments with precision and confidence.
  • Structuring a dermaviduals facial treatment — treatment pacing and flow
  • Barrier-first treatment planning
  • Professional mask preparation and mixing — correct application techniques, mask thickness, layering, and timing
  • Combining masks within treatment protocols
  • Mask systems: enzyme masks, individual masks, base modellage, fleece masks
Clinical Outcome

Practitioners confidently deliver dermaviduals facial treatments while selecting and applying masks appropriately based on skin condition.

Applied Clinical Lab 2

Facial Techniques & Clinical Massage Applications

Focus: Manual treatment techniques that support skin function without compromising the barrier.
  • The role of touch in skin therapy — nervous system effects of facial massage
  • Circulation and lymphatic movement — stimulation versus restraint in treatment design
  • Core facial massage techniques: effleurage, petrissage and kneading, lifting and rolling, cupping, tapping, directional lymphatic movements
  • Adapting manual techniques for barrier-compromised skin, acne and inflammatory conditions, sensitive or reactive skin, ageing and lipid-deficient skin
Clinical Outcome

Practitioners develop confidence delivering facial massage techniques while adapting manual treatments to support different skin conditions.

Level 03

The Masters Lab Series

Interpreting & Treating Complex Skin

Advanced clinical training focused on formulation, case strategy, and long-term outcomes. Masters Labs build on both Foundations and the Applied Clinical Lab Series.

These advanced training sessions explore the deeper clinical reasoning behind skin treatment, helping practitioners develop strategic treatment planning and formulation precision.

In-person · Prerequisites: Foundations + Applied Clinical Labs
Masters Lab 1

Formulation & Clinical Practice
Advanced DMS® base selection, precision concentrate layering, balancing actives in compromised skin, lipid correction strategies.

Masters Lab 2

Advanced Treatment Architecture & Case Strategy
Treatment sequencing logic, progressive barrier rehabilitation, managing post-procedure skin, case study breakdowns.

Masters Lab 3

Clear Skin Protocols — Acne & Congestion
Barrier-first acne management, sebum quality vs quantity, microbial balance without barrier destruction, long-term acne stability.

Masters Lab 4

Pigmentation & Melanin Regulation
Inflammatory vs hormonal pigmentation, melanocyte signaling pathways, barrier damage as a pigmentation driver, preventing rebound PIH.

Masters Lab 5

Rosacea, Sensitivity & Chronic Inflammation
Neurogenic inflammation patterns, vascular reactivity vs barrier collapse, flare-cycle interruption, treatment restraint as therapeutic strategy.

Masters Lab 6

Ageing Skin & Lipid Depletion
Lipid deficiency vs dehydration, corneocyte cohesion breakdown, collagen stimulation without barrier trauma, long-term architectural correction.

Beyond the Pathway

Advanced Seminars & Summit

These are distinct from the structured training pathway. They provide deeper exploration of emerging topics and community leadership.

Level 04

Special Advanced Seminars

Topic-specific seminars that provide deeper exploration of emerging topics in skin science and clinical practice. May feature guest experts, research insights, and extended lectures.

Example topics include inflammation and ageing, barrier disruption in modern skincare, post-procedure recovery, and environmental stress and skin health.

These seminars expand scientific literacy and professional knowledge but do not replace Foundations or the Masters Lab Series.

Bi-Annual

Dermaviduals Summit

A larger-scale educational gathering focused on collaboration, innovation, and the future of corneotherapy. The Summit brings together practitioners, educators, and international experts to explore emerging research, share clinical insights, and strengthen the global corneotherapy community.

Not a hands-on training event. A leadership-focused professional gathering.
