Derek Heldzinger , MD
My commitment is to educate my patients about their health while optimizing wellness to prevent illness and chronic disease.
Dr. Heldzinger earned his medical degree from the University of Stellenbosch Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Cape Town, South Africa. After finishing medical school, he became board-certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
In his over 30 years in medicine, he kept seeing a need for a medical practice that would support health, provide lifestyle options for prevention, and lead patients in making changes that would benefit them in the long run.
Lifestyle medicine was the answer. Every day the team works with patients to help them follow a healthy diet, get sufficient exercise and sleep, and maintain a healthy body weight to prevent chronic disease.

Starting on the journey to wellness Elmamarie obtained a Bachelor of Arts in both Education and Psychology, as well as an Associate degree in Primary Education and a diploma specializing in Junior Primary Education. From there, she become certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer and exercise physiologist. She also earned an associate degree in Medical massage from Hands On Medical massage with specialized training in Active isolated stretching with Aaron Mattes Stretching USA method.
Working with patients at Family Medical Center, she offers wellness, and mental health coaching as a way to bring balance and optimal health.
Elmamarie is a proud mother of 4 grown children and has been married for 36 years. Currently enrolled at Liberty University, she is working on a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology/ Mental Health Counseling.

Lisamarie Heldzinger
My passion is helping patients become the healthiest versions of themselves by guiding them with improved nutrition goals and maximize the benefits of massage.
Lisamarie is a graduate of Hands On Medical Massage School, where she earned her Medical Massage Therapy Certification. She is currently enrolled in the University Of Tennessee's Clinical Dietetics program.
As a member of the Family Medical Care team, Lisamarie educates on and provides patients medical massage as a part of their healthcare journey. She also consults with patients on the benefits of changing their diet in conjunction with other lifestyle changes to be the healthiest versions of themselves.
Lisamarie started as a student in sales and sales management, and eventually became an in home nursing caregiver. Her desire to help others lead her to further her career in the healthcare field.
