I have a recipe for home-made buns that turn out of the pan all done in 30 minutes. The other day I made the dough and set it in a large bowl to rise. As it turned out I wasn't able to get back to finishing the making of the buns for another 2 hours. Something cropped up in our world that needed my attention first.

I kept thinking, what is going to happen to the buns, I suppose they may not rise or something. But, they rose up and I made buns into them and they worked out great.
