Karina Burgos is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational challenges. She is committed to creating a grounded and supportive space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.
Her approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients build psychological flexibility and live in alignment with their values. Karina also integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and attachment-based work to support insight, emotional processing, and relational healing.
Karina has a particular focus on trauma-informed relational and attachment work, helping clients understand how past experiences shape present-day emotional and relational responses. She supports individuals and couples in identifying patterns, increasing self-awareness, and shifting from automatic reactions into more intentional and values-driven ways of living.
Karina is currently completing her certification in Constructed Awareness, a trauma-informed approach that focuses on increasing awareness of internal experiences—including mental processes, sensations, and external influences—to help clients move out of automatic, subconscious patterns and into more intentional, conscious choices.
Karina honors the role that faith and spirituality can play in the healing process and welcomes clients who wish to incorporate these elements into their therapeutic journey.
