Welcome to the first ever blog on robertjroy.com. I'm excited for this new website that we've set up and the new blog that I will be contributing to regularly. The goal of This site is to lend some insight into my personal beliefs and understandings of what goes on not only in the market but how I function with the market in my own life. Now some of that could be dealing with family while trading the market. as an example i am trading full time but i have to contend with my daughters recital or my sons baseball game, how do I make all of that work. What are the struggles that I have dealt with as a trader in the market for over 25 years and how have I overcome those to remain on top of my game in the market.
some of you know that I started trading back in 1997 I took a training from a company that is no longer around that did an amazing job teaching me what was possible. Although their training was good the motion important take away from that training was a gentleman that I met there his name was Vaskin who ultimately became my mentor. on the second day of our two day training Vaskin had approached me and asked me if I had an interest in meeting at his home once a month to talk about the market. I jumped at the opportunity even though it meant me getting on two different trains from where I lived the first one the Long Island railroad which was a much more expensive train ride then the standard second train I would have to take which was a regular city train. It took me over an hour and a half each way to get to his home but I knew the opportunity of meeting with other like minded individuals would be critical to my success.
That grew very quickly morphed into everybody leaving and it becoming just Vaskin and I. Vaskin had been trading the market for almost 40 years he came to the training to learn how to trade options. I went to the training to learn how to trade. It was a great combination working with him and learning from him as well as collaborating on multiple projects with him. Vaskin was the person that introduced me to Fibonacci in my trading. I would not be where I am today if it were not for him.
Vaskin is the reason that I ventured out to train others how to trade. He made me promise on the last time that I saw him before his passing that I would not keep this information to myself I would make this information on trading known to anybody willing to listen.
