(Deuteronomy 5 Study)
March 14, 2026
“Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live…”
Deuteronomy 5:33 (KJV)
================================
At the end of Deuteronomy chapter five, Moses gives a clear instruction.
Walk in God’s ways.
But he doesn’t stop there.
He gives the reason.
“…that ye may live.”
This is important.
Because it reveals something many people misunderstand.
God’s commands are not about control—
They are about life.
Israel was about to enter the Promised Land.
A place full of opportunity.
But also full of danger.
Different cultures.
Different values.
Different ways of living.
And God knew something they did not fully understand yet.
If they followed Him—
They would thrive.
If they ignored Him—
They would struggle.
Not because God wanted to punish them—
But because His ways are aligned with how life actually works.
This reveals a powerful truth.
Obedience is not a burden—
It is a pathway.
A pathway to:
Peace.
Stability.
Clarity.
Purpose.
Life.
And this applies directly to us today.
We often think:
“I want freedom.”
“I want to live my own way.”
But true freedom is not doing whatever you want.
True freedom is living the way you were designed.
Because when you live outside of God’s design—
Life becomes chaotic.
Decisions become unclear.
Consequences begin to stack.
But when you align with God’s ways—
Life begins to make sense.
Not perfectly.
But purposefully.
This is why obedience leads to life.
Not because it removes challenges—
But because it gives direction through them.
God was not trying to limit Israel.
He was trying to guide them into a life that works.
And that is still true today.
Trust God’s direction
He knows what leads to life.
Follow consistently
Obedience is a daily walk.
Align your choices
Small decisions shape your future.
Stay committed
Faithfulness produces stability.
Believe in God’s design
His way leads to purpose.
Obedience is not restriction.
It is alignment with life.
Lord, help me trust Your ways even when I do not fully understand them.
Teach me to walk in obedience daily.
Guide my decisions and align my life with Your truth.
Let me experience the life You have designed.
Amen.
Deuteronomy 5:33 (KJV)
“…that ye may live…”
God connected obedience directly to life, showing that His commands lead to well-being and purpose.
Choosing to follow God’s ways brings clarity, direction, and purpose to everyday life.
Lord, guide me to walk in Your ways daily.
Help me trust that Your path leads to life.
Amen.

Darryl Yap’s recent post about Vice President Sara Duterte struck a chord online, amassing thousands of comments and shares. His words painted a portrait of resilience: “Nagtitiwala, tumulong, tinraydor, siniraan, patuloy na pinahihirapan.”
For her supporters, Sara Duterte is not just a political figure — she is a daughter honoring her father’s legacy, and a leader standing up for the country amidst criticism and betrayal.
The post frames her as a defender of the nation, ready to battle what Yap describes as the “pulang halimaw na umuuto ng rosas,” a direct jab at political rivals. This strong imagery highlights how polarized Philippine politics has become — where allegiances, narratives, and symbols are constantly weaponized.
But beyond the rhetoric lies the bigger question: Can Sara Duterte truly rise above political attacks and prove herself as a unifying leader, or will she remain trapped in the cycle of partisan battles?
As the political landscape heats up, one thing remains clear — Sara Duterte continues to be a central figure in shaping the nation’s political future.
💭 What’s your take? Is Sara Duterte the resilient leader her supporters believe her to be — or just another political personality caught in the storm?
