Living and Fighting with Purpose!
Champion! Living and Fighting with Purpose
The word champion is powerful. It can describe someone with superior skill or ability, but it also means someone who fights or speaks for another or in favor of a cause. Both definitions come from the Latin root meaning "fighter," and both reflect the fighting spirit needed to champion others or achieve greatness.
Becoming a Champion
Whether overcoming obstacles or supporting others in their journey, being a champion requires determination and grace. My friend Desiree embodies this beautifully. As she launches her first book, she’s shown the perseverance needed to overcome challenges in writing, publishing, and marketing. Her journey reminds us that being a champion is both a noun and a verb.
Championing Others as Christians
As Christians, we are called to champion each other. Comparison and criticism have no place on the path of faith. Instead, we’re called to celebrate others’ achievements as we each run our own race. Staying in our lane and cheering for others glorifies God and strengthens His kingdom.
Imagine a day when the body of Christ stands unified—confident in who God made each of us to be and cheering one another on. Together, we can usher in Jesus, the ultimate Champion, whose victory makes our own possible.
Encouragement to Fight and Support
Since we are made in His image and He has already given us the victory, let’s fight to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives and champion others in their journey.
I’m grateful for Desiree, who exemplifies this call. Her bravery in sharing her story encourages others to live in relationship with a God who reigns victoriously yet compassionately walks with us. Let’s continue to support and cheer her on, and may her courage inspire us all to champion each other in faith, purpose, and love.
Let’s fight for what matters, cheer for one another, and glorify Jesus, the greatest Champion of all!
