I’m a VB local and small business owner like so many of you. But that wasn’t always the case… As a child I moved around A LOT. Having gone to 6 different elementary schools and finally moving to Virginia Beach in middle school, I knew Virginia Beach would be my forever home and never wanted to move again.

In 2016 I started an online business with 3 kids under the age of 5, a full-time job, all alongside my husband’s demanding work and travel schedule. I worked nights and weekends to build a business that would allow me to walk away from my government job. Within a year and a half I was able to do just that and make this “side hustle” my only hustle. By my 3rd year I built it into a 7 figure business and had trained and coached hundreds of others in my industry. Rejection, grit, perseverance, tenacity - just some of the lessons I learned along the way. As challenging as entrepreneurship is, it is equally as rewarding and the time freedom was priceless. I knew I could never go back to corporate America.

By 2020, during the heart of the Covid shutdown, I decided I had space to add something new to my plate and so I began another entrepreneurial adventure. I was presented with an opportunity to work directly with local communities and bring them together with positive stories and connection. I could also help local businesses succeed by giving them a platform to reach high valued clients and connect them directly to the community. Together my collection of education, work experience, life experience, and business networking over the years had me prepared to take on what has now become my dream job!

Today, I’m the founding Publisher of 3 community publications that reach close to 10,000 homes monthly and am the Senior Market Manager of one of the most affluent counties in the US. Launching Good Neighbor Podcast is just another way I’m able to strengthen the connection of local entrepreneurs who’ve built incredible businesses in our area and our local community they serve.

What I’ve learned over the years is you could have the best business in the world, but if nobody knows about you it doesn’t matter. Sharing your story, building trust, credibility, and branding is crucial. Every business has a story to share and I want to share yours. Thank you for listening to mine.
