About our Incursions

We are a trusted provider of innovative, in-school learning experiences, delivering high-quality incursions to schools since 2013. Over the years, we’ve partnered with educators to bring engaging, hands-on programs directly into the classroom, making it easy to integrate meaningful technology education without adding to teacher workload.

Today, we offer curriculum-aligned coding, robotics, game development and cyber security — delivered directly into your classroom. Building on our strong foundation, we have recently introduced our Cyber Range, giving students the opportunity to explore real-world cyber security challenges in a safe, interactive environment.

Our mission is simple: to equip students with the skills they need for the future, while providing schools with seamless, expert-led programs that align with the Australian Curriculum and inspire a lifelong interest in technology.

What others are saying

"My son has been participating in Junior Engineers’ programs for 5 terms and I wanted to thank you for your fantastic program. It’s one of my son’s favourite activities and he always looks forward to the next lesson. In a fun way, he has gained a solid understanding of coding and he is constantly being inspired by the program. A big thank you and see you next term."

- Abby J

"I have been most impressed. As the robotics coordinator at St Peters Lutheran College I felt that we needed some more coding options for our students. Junior Engineers seemed to have the curriculum and small-group focus that I wanted for our students. From their first interactions with me I was assured that the Junior Engineer staff had the confidence and ability to tailor their programs to our needs."

- Simon Canfield

School Teacher

"A very big THANK YOU to Junior Engineers for the last online coding training. Julio learnt so much with Daniel and was really excited to show us something new he learnt after each session. Daniel, the instructor, was extremely patient with the kids and handled them really well. Very well mannered and kind. Julio would love to attend the next online training."

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

We answer some of our schools' most frequently asked questions below, but if you need more information about the incursion, please don't hesitate to get in touch

What is a school incursion?

A school incursion is when our Junior Engineers team comes directly to your school to deliver a hands-on, curriculum-aligned program — no travel required for your students. Unlike an excursion, everything happens right on your school grounds, making it easy to integrate into
your timetable with minimal disruption. Our instructors arrive fully prepared with all the equipment and resources needed to run an engaging and structured session, so your school community gets a rich learning experience without the logistics of leaving campus.

What year levels do you cover?

Our incursion programs are designed to cater to both primary and high school students, covering Years 1 through 12. For primary school students in Years 1 to 6 (ages 6 to 12), our programs are scaffolded to suit different developmental stages — from introductory coding
experiences for younger learners through to more complex, project-based challenges for upper primary. For high school students in Years 7 to 12, our incursions are designed to meet more advanced learning outcomes, introducing deeper programming concepts, digital problem-solving, and technology skills that are both curriculum-aligned and industry-relevant. Regardless of the year level, each incursion is thoughtfully tailored to engage students at the right level of challenge and creativity. If you have mixed-age groups or specific year level requirements across your school, we're happy to work with you to design a delivery plan that suits your needs.

Do teachers need tech experience?

Not at all. Our incursions are entirely instructor-led, meaning our Junior Engineers team takes full ownership of session delivery from start to finish. Your classroom teacher is welcome to observe, participate, or step back — whatever works best for them. That said, our incursions
are designed to complement the Digital Technologies curriculum, so teachers often find the sessions a valuable professional learning experience in their own right. No preparation or prior technical knowledge is required on the part of school staff.

What equipment do you provide?

Our instructors come to your school fully equipped with everything needed to run the incursion. This includes laptops or devices, all relevant software — such as Scratch, Minecraft Education Edition, or Micro:bit programming environments, depending on the program — and any supporting materials. We take care of the setup and pack-down on the day, so there's nothing for your school to organise in advance. If your school has its own devices you'd like to incorporate, we can discuss that option when planning your booking.

How long are the sessions?

Our standard incursion sessions are typically 60 minutes in length, though duration can be adapted to suit your school's timetable and specific program requirements. For school holiday workshops focused on Minecraft and Micro:bit, we offer both one-day and two-day intensive on- site formats — ideal for scheduling at the end of Term 2 or Term 3. When you get in touch to book, we'll work with you to find a session length and structure that fits your community's needs

Can you run programs for the whole school?

Yes, absolutely. We can structure our incursion days to reach students across multiple year levels, running sessions back-to-back throughout the day to accommodate different classes. Whether you'd like a whole-school incursion day, a series of targeted year group sessions, or an ongoing after-school program open to all students, we can design a delivery model that works for your school. We're experienced in scaling our incursions to suit both small and large school communities, so don't hesitate to ask about what's possible.

How do we book?

Getting started is straightforward. Simply reach out to our team via phone or email to express your interest and let us know a convenient time to connect. From there, we'll have a conversation to understand your school's needs, discuss the incursion programs best suited to your students, and agree on dates and on-site logistics. We recommend getting in touch early, particularly if you're looking to schedule sessions at popular times such as the end of term, as our calendar fills quickly. Our Head of Customer Success, Ross Medina, is also available to assist you throughout the entire booking process.

Are your instructors checked?

Yes. All Junior Engineers instructors hold current Working With Children Checks and are fully screened before visiting any school. Beyond compliance, we invest heavily in the ongoing professional development of our team — not only in the technical content they deliver during
incursions, but also in classroom engagement strategies and positive behaviour management. This means every on-site session is run by someone who is not only qualified and safe to work with children, but also skilled at creating a supportive, structured, and enjoyable learning environment for every student in the room.
