THINGS WE KNOW & THINGS WE DON’T KNOW

Oh Lord, I look up to the heavens and see your majesty winking at me from your stars that are bright and shining. I think to myself how beautiful your creation is, and I wonder if man will ever surrender themselves to the knowledge that there is an Almighty and perfect creator. How beautiful is your creation, oh Lord? It is as beautiful as a newborn baby, regardless of what that child looks like, cherished by its parents and loved by a love so profound. And your love for your creation is far beyond man's understanding. May you, in your loving concern for this your creation, open our eyes so that we can truly enjoy it all with knowledge of its purpose. Amen.

I am going to be 80 years old very soon, like early next month, and over those years, scientists revised their scientific statements as they discovered things that challenged old ideas. One example is the atom, what surrounds it, and its purpose. They found a quark and a bunch of other stuff I can’t tell you about because I really have no idea. All that is way over my pay grade. But the real big question that baffles these brilliant minds is, “What holds all this together?”

Well, today, my friends, I, Lou Campos, have solved the most profound question that has been bugging the science community for countless years.

Colossians 1:16-17 For by Him all things were created, both the heavens and the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities- all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Verse 17: HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS, AND IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER.

One simple statement by the creator of all things resolves all the musings of brilliant minds unwilling to read and believe.

The book of John describes creation in Christ. It delivers a complete understanding of this creation that is His and His alone. If we are willing to receive such truth that is given to us entirely, we would instantly fall to our faces and cry out, “We are not worthy, we are not worthy”. But see this clearly, if we have surrendered ourselves at the cross, we are in Christ. Since we are in Christ, then everything in creation is His, and we are partakers in everything that is Christ. Yes, for those who have become a new creation in Christ, yes, we are worthy, yes, we are worthy.

John1-5 reads:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of man. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The foolishness I witness daily is that man, in one way or another, has the opportunity to understand the creation that surrounds them; however, the effort to understand seems overwhelming, and they choose to ignore it. I have demonstrated to you this morning that the answers to these mysteries are open-source news that requires nothing but obedience to the one who holds knowledge within Himself.

The Bible—the Word of God, which is God Himself—mentioned in the scriptures above in this posting, is like the ongoing discoveries in the scientific community, revealing the unique properties of the atom. My knowledge of those subjects spans only 70 years. The changes, half of which I do not pretend to understand, have crept along and have advanced science in micro baby steps. Since my salvation, I have read scriptures repeatedly. Each time it seems that God reveals Himself even more deeply with each consecutive reading of the same scriptures. Yes, it's like scientific discoveries. The more they dig, the more they understand. Understanding our God is a daily experience for those who are hungry for a relationship with the living God. There is no excuse for everyone on this earth not to come to the knowledge of who God is and what Jesus did at the cross. There is no excuse for Christians who have already confessed Christ as their savior not to know him intimately. There is also no excuse for Christians not to be fully equipped with every gift given to us freely by God at salvation. He has given us life and Life more abundantly. And we are directed, “you have freely received, now freely give.” That is not a request, but it is a command. You are the light of the world; that light is a witness to His goodness. Let your light shine. The world is in need.

Let me end with this. Look around you and ask, What would this world be like if sin had never entered the world. The creation was perfect in all God's glory. Adam walked with God in the cool of the evening. Adam and Eve had everything in this creation at their disposal, never lacking anything. Sin came in and destroyed everything that God created. The definition of sin is rebellion. Our original parents rebelled against their creator. They took it upon themselves to bring down perfection. And here we are. Two thousand or so years ago, came the Son of God in the form of man to redeem mankind and offer salvation from the penalty of the rebellion. The death of one innocent man who took all the sins of the world upon Himself and, in His death, gave us life if we choose to receive that gift. For the lost who are without Christ: Are you going to continue in your rebellion or call upon the Savior? For the Christian, are you going to continue to ride the fence of indifference and reject His gifts that would make you effective against the enemy of your soul? Sitting before you is a turning point in your lives today. Will you go with me today and march into the light of understanding God and His deep love for us?

In 1972, Louis Campos experienced a profound spiritual awakening that forever changed the course of his life. After earning a Bachelor of Theology, he continued his education in what he calls the “School of the Spirit,” where trials and triumphs deepened his walk with God. Louis lives by the principle, “You have freely received, now freely give,” dedicating his life to sharing the wisdom and love of Christ with others. His mission is to inspire believers to grow in faith, pursue spiritual maturity, and walk boldly in the purpose God has set before them.
