“HE KNOWS EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING”
Have you ever done something that wasn’t according to the house rules? Boy, I have, countless times. Never thought I would get caught because I was good at acting like an angel 24/7. But as you all know, you always get caught, eventually. God created a special creature to make sure that everything is exposed, and the consequences of wrongdoing are dished out. No, it’s not that, you know, she didn’t have eyes behind her head! But when you did get called onto the carpet, you always knew to ask, “How did you know”?, Then here it was, “A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME”. That’s right, God created that special bird for every mother in the world. And every father had the special attitude corrector that worked so well that behavior was dialed in for a few days.
Life is a series of learning experiences that build character on top of the other, some good, some bad. We seem to have more of the bad experiences than the good, but by God's grace, we remember the good primarily and grow stronger. In Christ, the still small voice of the Holy Spirit brings a loving correction and exposes our weak, rebellious side that needs Godly direction. Paul mentioned that he had a problem like a thorn in the side that kept him humble and in line. We all have one or two or maybe a string of those things. As our walk is perfected, there are fewer flaws that need attention.
I have asked the Lord to give me some helpful insight into the dynamics of turning my life from an absolutely lost individual to crossing over from the dark side and into the light of Christ. He put it this way:
Before coming to the Cross, I lived 27 years in a rebellious, corrupted world, learning how to cope, and I developed some nasty habits. I thought I had it all together, but something was very wrong. I will use one example in my life to reveal the path that we all are on before Christ. Before our experience at the cross, we learned everything under the influence of this world. This corrupt influence formed everything that formed our personal lives. We learned patience, but patience with limits attached in sin. Our patients were limited by what we deemed acceptable boundaries. Everything before the cross has that same human limit factor. When we become a new creation in Christ, we are filled with the Holy Spirit of promise, and now we have to UNLEARN all that faulty, sinful generation that we have become. We are directed to “put on Christ: Have this mind that is in Christ Jesus. Be conformed to His image. In other words, drop the old man and put on the new man in Christ. Everything in God is perfect; it is, if not, He would not be God. So the patients of God need to be taken up in our lives, and the old, sinful patients must be discarded.
My final thought on the subject is this. Desiring truth, that is in Christ Jesus, is the hunger placed there by the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Be filled to overflowing and receive the Power that can change your circumstances and offer hope to a lost and dying world. Seek after the gifts of the holy Spirit that will make you Christ-like, powerful, and equipped as a proper vessel of God—blessings to all who read and desire the Lord of Glory.
