1-800-HEAVEN

JEREMIAH

Guess what, I got rudely woken up by my dog at 5:00 am this morning. She didn’t bark or anything like that, but I’ll just say the air was not breathable. I retreated to the living room and got comfortable in my easy chair to fill in at least two more hours of rest. Yup, you guest it, just had to dial up 1-800-HEAVEN before I drifted to La La Land.

In my last posting, the Lord had me challenge you all to aggressively pursue the gifts of the Holy Spirit and our responsibility to apprehend them for the betterment of believers. So I inquired of the Holy Spirit on how I can present an example of how the Lord uses His children with power. The following is just one example out of my experience during my Christian walk with our God.

It was 1973, while in bible college, a missionary from Maranatha Missions of Sweden was sharing the word at our early morning chapel. At the end, he asked if anyone felt God had spoken to them about taking a short trip to Kenya to experience the mission Maranatha Missions had established. It was like I had springs on my feet; I was up so fast. Three months later, I found myself in Nairobi on a stage with thousands of people in front of us. Mind you, I was a very young Christian and had no idea what was up. Donald was greeting the people at the pulpit for quite a while and finished with a beautiful song. He turned around, came up to me, and said, "Ok, Lou, are you ready?" I said what, do you want me to tell my testimony? His answer, you're going to preach the service, and afterwards, I will do the rest. I made it very clear to him that I had never addressed this many people, nor have I preached a sermon. NO, I am definitely not ready. What in the world do I say? His answer was profound: YOU SAY NOTHING. Go up there, take your time, and pray that the Holy Spirit will fill your mouth. That is precisely what I did. One and a half hours later, I walked back to my seat, Don took over, and ten thousand people gave their hearts to the Lord.

All God requires is a willing vessel and an obedient heart, and He will do the work.

Jeremiah 1:5-9

Vs5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.

Vs6 Then I said, Alas, Lord God, Behold, I do not know how to speak, because I am a youth.

Vs7 But the Lord said to me, Do not say, I am a youth; Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak.

Vs8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you, declares the Lord.

Vs9 Then the Lord stretched His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

Every committed person has the same calling because you came face-to-face with the Living God at the cross, and He will fill you if you surrender.

In 1972, Louis Campos experienced a profound spiritual awakening that forever changed the course of his life. After earning a Bachelor of Theology, he continued his education in what he calls the “School of the Spirit,” where trials and triumphs deepened his walk with God. Louis lives by the principle, “You have freely received, now freely give,” dedicating his life to sharing the wisdom and love of Christ with others. His mission is to inspire believers to grow in faith, pursue spiritual maturity, and walk boldly in the purpose God has set before them.
