GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

Question: Do you know what the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit are? 1. Word of Wisdom, 2. The Word of Knowledge, 3. Faith, 4. Gifts of Healing, 5. Working of Miracles, 6. Prophecy, 7. Discerning of spirits, 8. Different Kinds of Tongues, 9. and Interpretation of Tongues.

So, with that said, let me explain what the Lord has shown me concerning these gifts. I know you understand that when we come to the cross and surrender to our Lord, He takes up residence in our being. Jesus promised that He would send the Comforter to us after 50 days on the day of Pentecost. Interestingly enough, within Him are the 9 gifts of the Spirit that now reside in you when we receive the gift of salvation. These are supernatural abilities empowered by the Holy Spirit to mature His church. They are instruments of power to demonstrate the Love of God to encourage the Church to grow in Him.

What I want you to see is that you have a responsibility to desire these gifts to assist in the completion of the Plan of God, which is for a mature church that functions maturely in response to the power of the Holy Spirit. Another thing that is involved here is that all these gifts are essential to your personal growth in God. Without these gifts, you are not able to understand the great depths of the goodness of God. This is why Paul mentions that the Corinthians were not able to feast on the meat of the Word but were children in need of milk.

Lord, I pray that you will enlighten us through your Word, and that our desire for your knowledge will increase, fulfilling our commitment to become the warriors you have called us to be. Fill all who read with the gift of the Holy Spirit to overflowing with power.
