STANDING ON SOLID GROUND
Back in 1969, after returning to civilian life, I attended an engineering trade school, learning to draw plans, hoping to find a dignified occupation. My first job was with US Steel, doing transfer drawing in a room with 20 other guys. I got good enough in two months to be transferred to doing original drawing from concept creators and putting their ideas on paper. One problem became evident: I got an unrelenting, tight gut, and I wanted to escape my surroundings. In just a couple of weeks, I handed in my resignation. I contacted my Uncle Fred and reminded him of his offer to get me a job if and when I got back from Vietnam. He fulfilled his promise to me and made me a backhoe driver with a dump truck. If you think that was amazing, it wasn’t. The first construction job had me pushing a wheelbarrow and filling it with a shovel. Hard work, but it was outside, and I loved it. For over 50 years, I have installed fire sprinklers in large high-rises and large custom homes. I owned my own business from 32 years old to 59, when I turned to designing and engineering sprinkler systems for several West Coast companies.
Those who worked for me remember one major lesson I taught them. When setting up a ladder to work, to avoid injury and to be more efficient, it is essential to remember it is all about “POSITION, POSITION, POSITION.”
The Word of God is the ultimate instruction manual for the children of God. However, many have difficulty in basic understanding because man tends to dismiss the meaning in scripture quickly. After all, it does not match their personal knowledge. This method of trying to understand the Word kills spiritual growth.
Proverb 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is death.”
You and I may think that something is correct, but what does God think? Just like positioning a ladder to work, it may seem right to you, but paying closer attention to proper positioning avoids pain and sorrow.
Isaiah 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways” declares the Lord
Vs 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts”
Here, God is revealing that we have no concept of the perfection of our creator. Man’s thoughts are flawed and corrupt while he is separated from the creator of all things. He follows His ways are definitely not our ways because our thoughts that govern our ways are far inferior to His. He is the creator who is pure perfection, and we are His creation who has been under the deception of the ruler of this world.
I will end with this: The Word of God says, “Before I formed you in your mother's womb, I knew you.” Now, that my friends is a powerful personal message to those reading this post. God stated that “HE FORMED YOU”. Then He said, “I NEW YOU.” You read that right. Let me explain those statements.
You and I live in a created thing called time. It’s like a one-dimensional thing where we live from birth to death. But God is not constrained by His creation; He is all-encompassing. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the beginning and the end and everything in between. He is that thing that men of science have always been looking for, the thing that holds the universe together.
Now follow this carefully: Since God knows all things —past, present, and future —He knew you before He formed you in your mother's womb; He knows those who will one day come to the cross of Calvary for salvation. That’s right, He knows who will respond to The Gospel of truth.
1-800 HEAVEN IS WRITTEN FOR THOSE WHO GOD KNOWS WILL RESPOND TO HIS MESSAGE OF SALVATION AND GIVE THEIR LIVES TO A LOVING AND COMPASSIONATE SAVIOR. Thank you for seeking.
