FAQs

Q: What makes The Witch’s Cottage different from other cafés, restaurants, or theaters?

A: We’re creating an immersive “third place” - a community sanctuary that goes beyond feed and drinks. Think intentionally crafted teas, D&D Campaigns, live performances, mystical cocktails, art workshops, baked goods filled with love, a diverse programming of classes and workshops, and delicious foods made for your comfort- all under one enchanted roof.

Q: What's the minimum investment?

You can start investing with just $250 through our Wefunder campaign, making it accessible to community members who believe in our vision.

Q: When will The Witch's Cottage open?

A: We’re targeting The Fall Equinox of 2025 for our grand Opening- pending sufficient capital raises. We want to be operational before October! Renovation and set-up has been underway since March 2025.

Q: How will you compete with chain coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and theaters?

A: We're not competing – we're creating an entirely different experience. Our community-driven, immersive approach serves people seeking connection, creativity, and belonging, not just caffeine or alcohol.

Q: What is your plan for profitability?

A: Multiple revenue streams ensure sustainability: daytime café/bakery sales, evening bar/restaurant sales, live events, workshops/classes, private rentals, and retail. Our founders have decades of experience making creative ventures profitable and successful.

Q: How does the historic building enhance the experience?

A: We deeply care about keeping the history of this beautiful building. We believe in restoring and preserving that history. The building’s character and charm provide the perfect backdrop for our mystical aesthetic. Its layout allows for intimate nooks, performance spaces, and immersive design elements that modern buildings can’t offer.

Q: What safety measures are in place for LGBTQIA+ community members?

A: Inclusivity and safety are core to our mission. We’re establishing clear community guidelines, training staff on inclusive practices, and creating a space where everyone feels genuinely welcome and protected. We are also making sure to have gender neutral bathroom signage and policies!

Q: How will you handle the regulatory requirements for food service and alcohol?

A: Both founders have extensive experience with hospitality regulations. We're working with legal professionals to ensure all permits, licenses, and compliance requirements are met before opening.

Q: What happens if you don’t reach your funding goal in the needed timeline?

A: Our community is backing up our vision with enthusiasm. In order to open our venue within the timeline that we would be the most profitable (before Samhain/All Hallow’s Eve to fit within our aesthetic), we need a minimum of $450,000 by the end of August. However, we are going to open regardless. The more we raise, the sooner we can open. Additional funding will accelerate our timeline and enhance our offerings, but we are committing to opening no matter what- the only thing that would shift is our opening date.

Q: How can investors stay involved after investing?

We'll provide regular updates, exclusive previews, investor appreciation events, and opportunities to provide feedback on programming and offerings.
