The quality of snow is one of the most important factors in skiing; so, skiers are always looking for the best quality snow in the world. Due to the geographical location of some parts of the Zagros, the region is covered with snow for more than half of the year, that’s why a large portion of the Zagros Range is called the “Alps of Iran”. The levels of humidity in this area has also helped to create a quality snow for skiing and there is snow available for almost half the year!
