How It All Started.

I Didn't Start in Real Estate.

I started as a CPA at Coopers & Lybrand — one of the biggest accounting firms in the world. I spent 11 years reviewing hundreds of business plans, advising companies, and learning exactly how successful businesses are actually built.

Then in 1991 I walked away from all of it because real estate was calling my name.

And promptly made every mistake possible.

I cold called. Hundreds of calls a day. I got rejected constantly. I hired coaches. Tried every prospecting trick in the book. The grind was real and honestly? It was destroying me.

Excessive drinking. No exercise. And then the hardest part — my partner was diagnosed with brain cancer.

That year broke me open.

The Pivot

Sitting in the wreckage of that season, I asked myself one question:

What if there's a better way to play this game?

So I did what any former CPA does. I got obsessive and analytical about it. I interviewed over 80 top listing agents across the country. I studied mindset. I studied health. I wrote a book. I rebuilt everything from scratch.

And it worked.

Today I sell real estate in San Francisco — one of the most brutal markets in America — with an average sale price over $2,000,000.

I take more time off than ever. And I haven't done cold calling in years.
