Understanding the Basics of Microdermabrasion
The process of removing the upper layers of skin and rejuvenating the layers beneath is nothing new, but it has been greatly refined in recent years. Microdermabrasion–otherwise called microderm–was created in the 1980’s. Before then, standard dermabrasion techniques were very painful, took weeks to recover from, risked infection, and could produce scarring. With the invention of microderm, all of these risks have been removed, leaving only the benefits of better looking, softer skin.
At Dermaglow, we are committed to crafting, training, and supporting high-quality microderm machines. Our devices are suited for both medical facilities and day spas. Call us today to find out how Dermaglow can help you with microderm!
How Does Microderm Work?
Microderm is a popular cosmetic procedure in day spas, doctor’s offices, medical spas, and salons. During the treatment, the outermost surface of dead skin cells is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. This reveals glowing, younger looking skin underneath. By utilizing aluminum oxide crystals, sodium bicarbonate crystals, or a crystal-free attachment, microderm machines are able to gently scrub off the dead skin and vacuum away the cells and excess particles. Microderm is not a painful procedure and does not require anesthesia. The only side effect is slightly pink skin tone which lasts a few minutes or hours depending on the degree of abrasion taking place.
Conditions Microdermabrasion Can Treat
Microderm can serve as a treatment for a wide array of skin conditions. It helps with the following and more:
•Fine lines
•Wrinkles
•Sun-damaged skin
•Acne and acne scars
•Scar remediation
•Excess oils
•Blackheads and whiteheads
•Enlarged or clogged pores
•Superficial age spots
How Many Treatments Do You Need?
For the best results, regular microderm treatments are recommended. By receiving microdermabrasion every 7-14 days, you always ensure that you are removing your dead skin. Your skin will continue to feel soft, new, and healthy!
How to Prepare for Microderm
Microdermabrasion is not surgical, and it is minimally invasive. Because of this, there is very little you will need to do to prepare for a treatment. It is a good idea to avoid heavy sun exposure, exfoliating creams and masks, and tanning creams in the days leading up to your treatment. If you have serious concerns, you can consult with your skin care professional beforehand.
After your microderm treatment, you will be able to resume your daily activities immediately. Be sure to keep your skin hydrated in the days following your treatment. You will also need to be sure to apply sunscreen when you plan on spending time outside, because your skin will likely be more sensitive to the sun after your treatment.
How Dermaglow Will Benefit Your Spa, Salon, or Facility
Dermaglow offers several different types of microderm machines as well as accessories. Many of our customers note an increase in the sale of microderm services after purchasing our products. Because microderm offers ease of use and it is non-invasive, many customers are willing to try out microderm for the first time, and they continue to purchase treatments as they experience the benefits for themselves.
At Dermaglow, we also offer a trade-up program! As your facility or microderm services grow, you may find yourself in need of a larger or more feature-rich machine. Our trade-up program will give you one hundred percent credit for your existing Dermaglow machine, and you only pay the difference for an upgraded device! Simply send us your old device, and we will send your upgraded machine straight away.
Since microderm machines have been classified by the FDA as a Class 1 medical device, they can be operated without medical supervision. This means you are able to use microderm machines in any spa or salon!

Client Testimonial
“Wanted to let you know how much I love my Dermaglow Microdermabrasion Machine. In a few short months, my business has transformed. Microdermabrasion is my most popular service. Your equipment is both easy to use and highly effective. I also want to compliment your customer service and training staff. All things technical frighten me, but there has not been one moment when I felt alone with my questions. That kind of support (after the sale) is what creates “Raving Fans”. I would recommend your products and your company to EVERYONE considering Microdermabrasion services.”
