About GaKobe

Gakobe “Kobe” Milton was born on May 9, 2009, in Detroit, Michigan, as an identical twin to his brother, Gioni Milton.

From the very beginning, their bond was special — two hearts, two personalities, but one deep connection that only twins understand.

In 2014, our family moved to Georgia, where Kobe continued to grow into the young man so many came to love and admire.

Kobe was more than a son, brother, teammate, and friend — he was a light. At just 15 years old, he lived with a strength, humility, and heart that touched everyone around him.

Basketball was his passion. Whether he was on the court playing, training, or talking about the game, Kobe carried himself with confidence, discipline, and determination. He believed in teamwork, hard work, and showing up for others.

On June 11, 2022, at just 13 years old, Kobe was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. What could have broken many, strengthened him. During his courageous fight, he never allowed his diagnosis to define him. He remained positive, faith-filled, and focused on encouraging those around him. Even in his toughest moments, he reminded his family, “Mom, don’t be sad. God got me.” That strength continues to inspire us every single day.

Kobe loved school, his friends, and helping others. He believed in lifting people up. He had a quiet leadership about him — strong, steady, and loyal. His resilience, compassion, and spirit are the heartbeat behind the Gakobe Strong Foundation.

Today, his legacy lives on through scholarships, youth empowerment programs, athletic support, and community initiatives designed to uplift and strengthen young people. Every step we take, every event we host, and every life we impact is done in honor of Kobe’s spirit.

He was strong.

He was faithful.

He was a leader.

He is Forever Strong.
