Dr. Oberlander is a distinguished board-certified Orthopaedic surgeon and Sports Medicine specialist with over 30 years of experience. He has been the team physician for various professional, collegiate, and high school sports teams in the SF Bay Area, including MLS San Francisco Earthquakes, XFL San Francisco Demons, NFL Oakland Raiders, MLL San Francisco Dragons, USA EAGLES rugby team, DVC Athletics, and others. Dr. Oberlander is actively involved as an editorial board member and reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine for over 30 years. He has also served on the editorial boards of journals Arthroscopy and Orthopaedic Review. Additionally, he is a prolific author of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and is a renowned speaker on sports medicine and musculoskeletal digital health topics.

Dr. Oberlander completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Tulane University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Biology and Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended the Chicago Medical School, graduating with AOA honors. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Boston Medical Center and sports fellowship at the Hughston Clinic under Dr. Jack C. Hughston, a pioneer and legend in sports medicine. Apart from his medical practice, Dr. Oberlander is an accomplished entrepreneur with US and international patents for meniscus repair and arthroscopic shoulder surgery devices and techniques. He is the Founder, President, and Chief Medical Officer of RecoveryOne, a platform offering remote physical therapy and recovery programs for over 220 orthopaedic diagnoses and procedures. He has also recently served as the Chief Medical Officer for FIGUR8, a MIT spin-off company focusing on advanced sensor technology for joint motion, muscle function and gait analysis.

Dr. Oberlander resides locally with his family and is eager to continue his practice in orthopaedic sports medicine at the Contra Costa Medical Center in Martinez, California, delivering personalized care to patients and athletes in the East Bay area.
