Mental Bank Account

Uncategorized Jan 18, 2021

I have been thinking about the words freedom, and independence. The thing that comes to mind for me is the freedom to change our minds. But what about changing your mindset?

Are you are in business for yourself? Or responsible for your position, client database, or bringing dollars to your bottom line for the company you work for? You might want to consider your mindset - examine it and determine if your mindset may be costing you money.

How to Grow Your Business Right Now

Many companies are doing limited business, or they've closed down altogether, and many people are quarantined. Ideas around how we continue to grow a business are popping up in many conversations.

One of the thoughts I've had was that maybe I should lower my price. Perhaps I should change the way that I'm charging my clients.

That is what we call a scarcity mentality. It's a short term solution and will have short-lived results, and that's not what you want. You want those long-term relationships—those long-term return on your investment types of opportunity. We have to kind of rethink or think differently about what we're currently doing.

I realized sometimes we forget about the amount of value we're bringing to our clients. The education, the experience, and helping our clients get to their next level. They may not ever be able to reach that next pinnacle.

Lowering your prices takes away from the value, and people sometimes only pay for what they value in the moment.

Shift Your Mindset

What things hinder you from moving forward or cause you to get stuck in your mindset?

You have the freedom to shift your mindset around scarcity. You might shift how you're presenting what you're doing, but don't take away the very thing people need. They need what you have to offer.

If your business had to shut down for other reasons, maybe you're having to shift the way you're doing things. You have a product or service that your potential clients needs; how dare you stop because you feel as though you're not worthy to those people that need you the most.

It's irresponsible for us to pull back on what people need when we can provide them.

I can say this because I've been there. I know what it feels like, but I also see where those fear-based thoughts come from. We're going to smash them right now. We're not going to let them drive the way that we're doing business.

What You Bring to the Table

Think about this instead. What are you bringing to the table?

Take some time and write down some of the things you know you add to the people you serve, whether you help people increase their income or help people lose a hundred pounds.

Then say to yourself, "How many years have I been doing this? How many degrees do I have? How have I helped people before?"

Remind yourself of those things before you start trying to make a quick buck.
