Jesse's love for dogs began when he was a child. In 2010 he began training dogs and started operating officially as Canine Perspective in 2012. Through hard work and building a reputation as a talented, transparent, and reliable trainer he was able to expand to a full scale facility. When he's not helping the dogs of Chicago, Jesse loves being a father and husband.
Elizabeth San Miguel
Co-Owner | Canine Wellness & Nutrition
Elizabeth’s passion for dogs grew through rescue work, advocacy, and raising her reactive dog, Luna. After completing Luna’s training with Jesse, she joined Canine Perspective full time in 2021 as a partner...and a wife. Today, she helps grow the CP Pack through wellness and retail needs but most enjoys running a business that allows her to spend so much time with her pack.

Chief Burrito Officer | Snack Enthusiast | Professional Treat-giver
A dog trainer in-the-making, Burrito loves helping his Poppa train dogs with more exposure to toddlers. He understands safe boundaries for all creatures but takes his job as treat-giver to his dogs very seriously.

Astrid Taboada
DOG HANDLER
Astrid has always loved dogs and is a dog mom to three amazing pups! She began working at Canine Perspective in 2021 after leaving her last job at a competing doggy daycare. Her favorite "upgrades" about working here are that she doesn't have to listen to barking all day long and she gets to bring her pack to work!
Nate Rodriguez
DOG HANDLER
Nate is our resident "car guy" so if you break down near CP, give us a call! Aside from training as a mechanic, Nate enjoys Chicago sports (Go Blackhawks!) and loves cheering on the Cubbies. Most recently, he's been seen around Chicago driving our daycare van!
Mariano Favela
DOG HANDLER
You can find Mariano working our closing shifts here. He ensures the transport van is loaded correctly for drop-offs, is an expert at mixing up yummy dinners for our Boarding dogs, and knows which pups need a little kiss good-night when he tucks everyone in for bed!
Yosselyn Rivadeneyra
DOG HANDLER
Meet the newest member of our team! Yosselyn came to Canine Perspective in April 2026 and the dogs already love her sweet personality. Her friends would say she is always up for an adventure so we know she'll be a great fit here!
Luis Gandara
DOG HANDLER
You can catch Luis working at CP part time because he's a busy guy! Whether playing with human kids at the park district or cheering on the Chicago Bears, the dogs of CP are happy to have him come play a few days each week!
