Ways To Connect

The Christian faith often uses the terms “salvation,” “saved,” and “born again” to describe how an individual’s relationship with God can be established by accepting God’s free gift of forgiveness and mercy through confessing their personal sins and believing in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us that God desires to be in a relationship with us and give us a full life. That life He desires to give us includes such things as peace, purpose, and fulfillment. Jesus, speaking about His own people, said, “I have come that they may have life, and to have it to the full,” (John 10:10).

WATER BAPTISM

Are you ready to outwardly profess your faith through baptism? Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example.

CHILD DEDICATION

At Christpoint Church, we dedicate children rather than baptize them. Just as Hannah dedicated Samuel to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:21-28) and Mary and Joseph dedicated the infant Jesus (Luke 2:21-40) to the Lord according to Jewish custom, we believe dedication more closely follows the Biblical pattern than baptism, of which we have no RECORD of an infant or child being baptized in the Bible. Thus, this dedication ritual does not impart faith or forgiveness of sins to the child. Rather, it is the parent’s public acknowledgment that the child is a gift from God to them, and that they have a spiritual responsibility for the Christian nurture and training of this child.
