Key TEFA Dates to Know

Parent Application Window: February 4 – March 17, 2026

Funding Notifications: Beginning early April 2026

Private School Confirmation: Parents will list their child’s school and confirm enrollment; schools will then verify enrollment.

When Funds Become Available

July 1, 2026: At least 25% of approved funding available

October 1, 2026: At least 50% of approved funding available

April 1, 2027: Remaining funding released

What Families Should Do Now

Although the application does not open until February 4, we strongly recommend families begin preparing ahead of time so the process feels smooth and stress-free.

Here’s what to know:

Families do not need to be enrolled in a TEFA-approved private school at the time of application.

During the application, parents will choose an educational setting (such as Private School or Homeschool).

To receive funding by July 1, students must be enrolled in a TEFA-approved private school by June 1.

The final deadline to enroll in a TEFA-approved private school is July 15 for funding to be released in mid-August.
