Oklahoma's Living Piece of the Wild West

Wes Sanders founded the Slash-O-Ranch Longhorns in Northwest Oklahoma after purchasing 50 longhorn steers that were headed to a slaughterhouse at an auction in Shamrock, Texas in 1997. His goal was to help promote the Woodward Elks Rodeo. He brought them home, drove them to town, and it made a big deal.

Since their first rodeo, the Slash-O-Ranch Longhorns have appeared in movies, cattle drives, rodeos, and parades all over the country bringing a piece of America's Wild West history to all who are fortunate enough to see them. Today, the herd does 12 to 18 events per year, and some steers have appeared at over 100 events.
