Andrew Corish, BA LLB, Accredited Specialist
I have been a family lawyer for over 40 years and am an Accredited Specialist family lawyer through the Law Society of NSW since 1994. I have appeared and been involved in Court proceedings in the High Court, the Appeal Court of the Family Court and numerous Court hearings.
I have trained and been qualified as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Independent Children’s Lawyer, Collaborative Lawyer and Mediator.
As a trained collaborative lawyer and I have fully updated the way Family Law processes are delivered to work effectively in the 2020s.
My great interest and passion is to:
Help people through the crisis of a marriage or relationship breakdown.
Help them resolve their family law and other issues by agreement and on the best possible terms.
Help them make their Separation a positive experience, to “draw a line in a sand” and move on to a new and happier future life.
Drawing a line under the past to focus on the future you need.
Family law is not all figures and legal rights and documents. There are people and emotions too. We understand the challenges standing in the way of the settlement you need. We know these choppy waters and will pilot you through to the calm seas beyond.
I know how challenging and stressful Separations and family law matters can be.
The first step is a Free initial Consultation to explore and map out how we can work together to resolve your Family Law Issues. Click the button below.
Each person's situation is different and requires individual attention, particularly if there is a crisis or urgent and or complex dispute.
However, some things may seem complicated but really aren't - when you discuss and understand them.
I’ll help you to resolve disputes by agreement as quickly, efficiently as possible.
And if Court or Mediations are necessary, we are expert at assisting you with these too.
Working with us, you’ll find:
We explain and educate, making the law simpler.
We always aim for cost-effective answers because the law can be expensive without the right advice and method.
Through collaborative legal solutions, we work with you so you understand exactly what the law requires.
Our advice gives you results you can rely on:
At a cost you can afford.
A smart negotiator on your side.
Securing your pathway to the future you want.
We don't bind you in, we work step by step.

Is it important to discuss the costs involved in different legal courses of action.
I do, of course, have to charge fees for my time and work and for the legal costs incurred by your work. I do make my charges as affordable as possible.
We provide transparent information as to the Legal Costs involved which are affordable for most people.
We are not the cheapest, but we do deliver best value in providing a great service to assist you, at a cost which is likely half what you would pay elsewhere for an old-fashioned “adversarial” lawyer.
I can therefore obviously only help those who can afford to pay for my services, with a few exceptions for special cases.
Family Law can be expensive especially if you don’t understand the best methods. We work hard to make your journey as affordable and cost effective as possible.
We always start with FREE 30-minute initial appointment. We then make an assessment of your legal issues and the work to be done. We can then estimate the legal costs involved in doing such work.
We then send you a Mutual Commitments and Costs Agreement which explains the work, the stages of the process and the likely costs.
To start the journey to achieve the outcomes you want, you put just $880 into our trust account which holds your deposit securely so we can get started.
For Separations we also then send you your Complimentary
•e-book: 'HOW TO HAVE A SMART SEPARATION”
We make a commitment to you to use our experience and expertise to minimise the legal costs for your maximum benefit.
You make a commitment to us to pay legal costs as they are incurred, or otherwise agree arrangements with us for payment.
We then complete the work for the first stage. We will send you an itemised account, detailing the work done and seeking your permission to transfer your deposit from the Trust account to pay the costs in the invoice.
If there are additional costs in excess of your deposit in trust, we request you pay those straight away.
We then focus on to the next stage of your work. We discuss with you the work to be done, and estimate those costs and agree how you will pay them.
You give us permission to do that work and incur the costs.
We then send you a further itemised account as the work is done or fortnightly, according to what we have agreed with you, and we request payment.
Sometimes, depending on the circumstances, we may request an additional advance payment into the Trust account. This is not usual, but done when necessary.
You usually you pay as you go, so that you keep control of your legal costs, those costs are transparent and there are no surprises.
