Our Story

American Classical Ballet (ACB) was founded with a clear vision: to bridge the gap between pre-professional ballet training and the professional stage. Under the artistic direction of George Birkadze, ACB was created to provide aspiring dancers with the rigorous training, mentorship, and performance experience needed to thrive in today’s professional dance world.

Recognizing the challenges many young dancers face when transitioning from student to professional artist, ACB developed a unique model that combines elite classical ballet instruction with meaningful stage opportunities. By integrating daily training with professional-level productions, dancers gain practical experience while refining the technical excellence, discipline, and artistry required for successful careers.

Designed for dancers ages 14–21, ACB’s year-round Professional Division emphasizes strong classical ballet technique while embracing a diverse repertoire that reflects the demands of modern professional companies. Students train in an environment that nurtures both artistic growth and personal development, preparing them for opportunities in ballet companies, contemporary ensembles, higher education programs, and other professional performing arts pathways.

What makes American Classical Ballet unique is its international perspective. Dancers from across the United States and around the world come together to train, collaborate, and learn from one another. Today, American Classical Ballet continues to grow as both a professional training institution and performing company based in Frisco.
