MEET CAYDEE MCCORMICK

Building workplaces people don’t fantasize about leaving.

I help leaders build workplaces where people actually want to stay - not because of kombucha on tap, but because they understand where the business is going and how their work fits into the bigger picture.

I work in the unglamorous but extremely influential space where leadership decisions, culture, compliance, and day-to-day work collide. My focus is workplace experience: how leadership shows up, how decisions get made, and how that feels to the people doing the work.

How do you describe what you do to someone at a dinner party?

I usually say I help leaders improve how work actually operates inside their organization.

That means clarifying expectations, strengthening leadership habits, and putting systems in place that support how the business has grown — instead of relying on guesswork and good intentions. Because when the experience of work is clear and consistent, people relax. And relaxed people do better work.

WHAT ARE YOU KNOWN FOR?

Seeing patterns quickly — especially the ones people have learned to tolerate...walking into a situation and saying, “Okay, here’s what’s actually happening.” Calmly. Clearly. Without making anyone cry or get defensive.

“Clarity is underrated. It solves more people problems than most policies ever will.”

– Caydee McCormick

What would people be surprised to know about you?

That I actually enjoy the messy parts of work — the uncomfortable conversations, the gray areas, the “this feels off but no one’s naming it” moments. Because that’s where the real progress starts.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

When leadership stops feeling like a guessing game and the company remembers that it hired smart, capable adults.

There's real alignment. Decisions get made faster. Teams relax so they can bring their full effort to the business instead of spending their energy decoding the vibe.

“It’s amazing how productive people become when they’re not spending their energy wondering if they’re doing the right thing or about to step on a landmine.”

– Caydee McCormick

How would your clients describe you?

Direct. Grounded. Practical.

I don’t soften the truth into something polite but useless. Clients work with me because I’ll say what’s actually happening so they can move forward instead of pretending everything's okay for six more months.

They also tend to say I’m funny. Not “trying to be funny,” just “thank you for saying that out loud because I was thinking it and didn’t want to admit it” funny.

And effective.
Which is kind of the whole point.
